Suicide Pod Used In Swiss Woman’s Death, Several Arrested

Police in Switzerland has made several arrests after a 64-year-old woman purportedly used a controversial suicide pad to snuff out life. Authorities found the pod and the deceased at a forest hut in the Schaffhausen region after they got a tip-off.

This suicide marks the first known case in the country involving the device, which has sparked significant debate. But many argue that the pod offers a compassionate, drug-free alternative for euthanasia. Critics claim that it glamorizes suicide and raises serious safety concerns.

The Sarco capsule, which has never been used before, is designed to allow a person inside to push a button that injects nitrogen gas into the sealed chamber. The person is then supposed to fall asleep and die by suffocation in a few minutes.
