Goodbyes are always difficult but a Twitter employee's note immediately after he was laid off has left netizens with a smile.

Tweeting about his layoff, Yash Aggarwal shared a happy picture from the office saying it had been an honour to be part of the social media giant.

"Just got laid off. Bird App, it was an absolute honour, the greatest privilege ever to be a part of this team, this culture," Yash tweeted.

He shared a picture of him holding two cushions with the Twitter bird on it in what looks like the micro-blogging site's pantry.

According to Yash's bio, he worked for Twitter's public policy deparment.

The internet showed validation for the 25-year-old's post with over 300 retweets and over 7000 likes.
