PTI Reaffirms Dialogue Commitment with Afghan People

In Peshawar on September 18 (PTI), the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, reaffirmed its commitment to engaging in dialogue with the Afghan people during a parliamentary party meeting. The meeting was held at the behest of PTI's founder and imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan, an official statement from the Chief Minister's office disclosed.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that initiating discussions with the Afghan people and their government is crucial. A formal proposal in this regard has already been communicated to the federal authorities. The chief minister emphasized the province’s continued policy of compassion, support, and cooperation towards Afghan refugees.

Chief Minister Gandapur highlighted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was at the forefront in sending relief assistance to victims of the Afghan earthquake. Regarding operations in Bajaur, he clarified that there was no extensive operation; only targeted, limited actions were taken. He assured that most displaced families have already returned home, with plans to facilitate the return of the rest soon.

Last week, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Bajaur district resulting in the death of 22 terrorists from the TTP amid intense firefights. Thousands of individuals were displaced due to the operation.
