Oldest known sentence inscribed on lice comb. This is where it was found

Israeli authorities have discovered an ancient comb likely bearing what is being considered as the oldest known sentence in the earliest alphabet.

According to researchers, the comb has Canaanite alphabetical script which reportedly dates back to about 3700 years ago.

Multiple media reports claimed that inscription on the lice comb instructs people to use it in order to get rid of lices.

The translation of the inscription reads: "May this tusk root out the lice of the hair and beard."

The comb was unearthed in Lachish, a Canaanite city in the second millenium BCE. It was first found in 2016 at Tel Lachish, but the inscription was spotted last year by a professor from Israel's Hebrew University.
