The Israeli military on Tuesday bombed houses of two Palestinian attackers suspected of killing an Israeli security guard in a West Bank settlement in April.

"Hundreds of Israeli soldiers late last night planted explosives at the houses in the Northern West Bank village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, injuring 4 men in the clashes that erupted consequently," claimed town Mayor.

A video of the incident shows the structures being reduced to ashes with emission of thick smoke.

The military called the action a retaliation to violent protest adding that fire bombs and burning tires were thrown at them.

Condeming the move, the Palestininans and human rights groups have called for collective punishment.

The consistent spate of attacks, daily-raids by Israel Defence Forces across West Bank have accelerated in the wake of a string of deadly attacks in which Palestinian attackers reportedly killed 19 Israelis.

Over 60 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the start of the year, as per an official Palestinian tally.

The battle over territories has been on since 1967 when Israel captured the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem for an independent state. The Palestinians on the other hand continue to defend the regions it lost in the Middle east conflict.
