Chris Pincher, 52, stepped down as the Deputy Chief Whip of the Conservative Party on Thursday night after admitting in his resignation letter that he "drank far too much" and "embarrassed myself and other people". There have been growing calls for Johnson to suspend him from the party after allegations emerged of him groping two men at a private members’ club in London.
"Last night I drank far too much," reads Pincher’s resignation letter.
"I think the right thing to do in the circumstances is for me to resign as deputy chief whip. I owe it to you and the people I've caused upset to, to do this," he said.
‘The Sun’ newspaper first reported the resignation, saying the senior Conservative MP was drinking at the Carlton Club in central London when he is said to have assaulted two other male guests. Several concerned Tory MPs contacted the Conservative whips' office to complain about his behaviour, the paper claims.

According to the indictment, Chandran owned a group of technology companies that he used in a scheme to defraud investors by falsely promising extremely high returns on the premise that one or more of his companies, operated under the banner of “ViRSE,” was about to be acquired by a consortium of wealthy buyers.
Chandran’s companies — which included Free Vi Lab, Studio Vi Inc., ViDelivery Inc, ViMarket Inc, and Skalex USA Inc, among others — developed virtual-world technologies, including their own cryptocurrency, for use in the companies’ own metaverse.
The indictment alleges that Chandran caused other individuals to make various materially false and misleading representations to investors, including that investors in his companies would soon receive extremely high returns when one or more of those companies was purchased by a group of wealthy buyers.
In fact, according to the indictment, there was no such buyer group that was about to purchase the companies for the claimed returns; a substantial portion of the funds was misappropriated for other business ventures and the personal benefit of Chandran and others, including the purchase of luxury cars and real estate; and there were no prominent billionaires involved in purchasing Chandran’s companies.
Chandran is charged with three counts of wire fraud and two counts of engaging in monetary transactions in the criminally derived property.
If convicted, Chandran faces up to 20 years in prison for each of the wire fraud counts and up to 10 years in prison for each count of engaging in unlawful monetary transactions.
The indictment also alleges that 100 different assets — bank accounts, real estate, and luxury vehicles, including 39 Tesla vehicles — are subject to forfeiture as proceeds of the fraud.
US Marshals and the FBI are seizing most of the assets pending the resolution of the criminal case.

The report said that the ship has sustained damage to the front portion on its right side.

Indian-origin US Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi has won the Democratic primary from Illinois with a decisive mandate, successfully overcoming a highly communal campaign run by his opponent Junaid Ahmed.
Krishnamoorthi, 48, who is very popular in the eighth Congressional District of Illinois, defeated Ahmed with over 71 per cent of the votes.
"I am honoured that the Democratic primary voters in Illinois' eighth Congressional District voted in an overwhelming and decisive fashion in support of my re-election campaign for Congress," Krishnamoorthi said.
"My constituents want peace, progress and prosperity. In Congress, I have for the middle class, for women's reproductive rights, and against inflation and increasing gas prices. I will continue to work tirelessly to address these issues in the important months ahead," he said.
He has been serving as the US representative for Illinois’s 8th congressional district since 2017.
Krishnamoorthi's parents are from Tamil Nadu.
The three-term Congressman, who was born in New Delhi, faces Republican Chris Dargis in the November 8 general elections.
"We now turn our attention to November, where our fundamental freedom and human rights are on the ballot," Krishnamoorthi added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin would not have embarked on a “crazy, macho war” against Ukraine if he were a woman, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said.
In an interview with the German media at the end of the G7 Summit in Schloss Elmau this week, Johnson pointed to Putin’s machismo as a contributory factor in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
He also called for more women in “positions of power” as one of the measures towards global peace.
“If Putin was a woman, which he obviously isn’t, if he were, I really don’t think he would have embarked on a crazy, macho war of invasion and violence in the way that he has,” Johnson told broadcaster ZDF.
“If you want a perfect example of toxic masculinity, it’s what he is doing,” he said, referring to the 69-year-old Russian president.
During the recent G7 Summit in Germany, leaders of the powerful bloc mocked Putin over his infamous bare-chested picture atop a horse.
Asked about Johnson's remarks, the prime minister's official spokesman said that "there is not a deliberate policy", adding: "The British public would expect leaders to be robust with someone killing innocent civilians on a daily basis."
Johnson's comments come ahead of a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) meeting in Madrid where western allies will discuss how to respond to future threats.
At the summit, Johnson is set to call on fellow members of the defensive alliance to ramp up defence spending.
Meanwhile, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) announced new sanctions to target Putin’s “inner circle”, including Vladimir Potanin -- Russia’s second richest man and owner of major conglomerate Interros.
Potanin continues to amass wealth as he supports Putin’s regime, acquiring Rosbank, and shares in Tinkoff Bank in the period since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the FCDO said.
Anna Tsivileva, Putin’s cousin and President of the prominent Russian coal mining company, JSC Kolmar Group, has also been sanctioned.

&ldquo;If you want a perfect example of toxic masculinity, it&rsquo;s what he is doing,&rdquo; he said, referring to the 69-year-old Russian president.
During the recent G7 Summit in Germany, leaders of the powerful bloc mocked Putin over his infamous bare-chested picture atop a horse.
Asked about Johnson's remarks, the prime minister's official spokesman said that "there is not a deliberate policy", adding: "The British public would expect leaders to be robust with someone killing innocent civilians on a daily basis."

Johnson's comments come ahead of a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) meeting in Madrid where western allies will discuss how to respond to future threats.

Meanwhile, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) announced new sanctions to target Putin&rsquo;s &ldquo;inner circle&rdquo;, including Vladimir Potanin -- Russia&rsquo;s second richest man and owner of major conglomerate Interros.
Potanin continues to amass wealth as he supports Putin&rsquo;s regime, acquiring Rosbank, and shares in Tinkoff Bank in the period since Russia&rsquo;s invasion of Ukraine, the FCDO said.

As Brazil lifted its COVID-19 restrictions by removing the mask mandate in the country. A Brazilian body-modification addict known as “Human Satan” has removed his ears to celebrate the end of the COVID-19 protocol.
Michel Faro Prado has claimed that he wants to look like a “sinister” and he is ready to bear all the pain to achieve his dream look. Now people are making fun of him after seeing his new look, one said “Hope he does not get an airpods or earbuds this Christmas.” Another added, “I just don’t understand how someone can modify their body to this extent. There’s no going back. If you try to fix this, you’ll still have scarring and disfiguration. You’ll never look like your old self again and will have to live with this the rest of your life.”
According to the reports, earlier as well the man has undergone more than 60 procedures and has around 85% of his body covered in ink. Prado has customised his teeth and he has got many tattoos and piercings done on his body. Search for more than two dozen crew members whose ship broke in half and sank after being caught near the center of Typhoon Chaba was under way on Saturday, according to the Hong Kong search and rescue authorities.
One crew member was winched up to a rescue helicopter as waves lashed the sinking vessel which had split in two.
As per reports crew members encountered difficulty as a result of the typhoon which was reaching maximum winds of 110 kilometres per hour.The statement did not disclose the name and origin of the ship, but said that about 30 crew members abandoned the ship, approximately 300 kilometres (186 miles) southwest of Hong Kong, during Typhoon Chaba.
Hong Kong authorities raised the typhoon warning on Thursday as Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in the city to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its handover from Britain to China.
Typhoon Chaba brought heavy rain and wind to the city, restricting public transport and forcing many businesses to close.

On June 24, the Supreme Court in US overturned its 50-year-old Roe v Wade judgement. This decision has taken away the constitutional right to abortion of millions of women in the country. It has also paved the way for states to create their own legislations to ban the procedure. 
Women in states where abortion will be completely banned or restricted will be forced to cross states borders to areas in the country where abortion is still legal. 
There are a number of ways through which the law will be able to persecute people going for abortions. Individuals who will aid women to get abortions will also come under the scanner, reports say. 
Addressing a virtual meet with Democratic state governors, Biden said that he believed some US states would attempt to arrest women who cross states for availing abortion. 
"I don't think people believe that's going to happen. But it's going to happen," he said.
The president also ensured access to medications that aid in abortions in states where they are prohibited. 
But the government's intervention will lead to more legal problems that might even get the Supreme Cout involved. A political science expert told the BBC that these legal woes will particularly arise if states have a reason to believe that the federal government is working to undermine state laws. 
Thirteen states have already restricted or banned abortion since the court's decision last week. 
The question that is on the public's mind is when will the federal government restore the abortion rights? 
The President has said that Democratic victories in the mid-term elections would give Congress the power to restore the federal abortion rights. This will happen only after November, one way or another, he added.
