Man falls from tow-truck at Hong Kong airport, dies after being run over by plane

A ground worker was killed after he fell from a tow-truck and was run over by an aircraft at the Hong Kong airport. As per the media reports, police received a call from airport staff at around 3 am on February 6 saying a man had been found unconscious at West Apron.

Emergency personnel found the 34-year-old man with multiple injuries and declared him dead at the scene. The man was an employee of China Aircraft Services which is responsible for aircraft towing, the Airport Authority said.

Police stated that the man was riding in the passenger seat of a tow truck when he fell out of the vehicle and was hit by the plane being pulled behind it. The Authority said, "It is suspected that the seat belt was left unfastened while the staff was working on the vehicle."

The 60-year-old truck driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and detained for questioning.
