IDF chief Herzi Halevi said that ‘forces are ready’ to strike Lebanon’s Hezbollah. Former Cabinet minister Benny Gantz also said that IDF should ‘focus on countering Lebanon, Iran’.

"The IDF is focused on combat with Hezbollah. The Northern Command is striking Hezbollah's capabilities in Lebanon before they can attack us. We are also preparing for offensive moves within the arena,” Herzi Halevi, Israeli Army Chief of Staff said.

“We are capable of… hitting the state of Lebanon if needed. The story of Hamas is old news. The story of Iran and its proxies all around the area and what they are trying to do is the real issue.” Benny Gantz, Israel’s former War Cabinet minister.

Meanwhile, Jordan and Egypt have warned that Israel and Hezbollah's fight could lead to a regional war.

As a result, the US has ordered two aircraft carrier strike groups to remain in the Middle East.
