Imran arrest: ‘Ganja Shaitan’ & ‘Dirty Harry’- Pak army officers who are at loggerheads with PTI chief

This video of Imran Khan was released after his arrest from the Islamabad High Court. The former Pakistan PM had recorded a message for his supporters but the allegation against an army officer you just heard was not made for the first time.

The first time Imran directly talked about the army officer, whom he called ‘Dirty Harry’ was soon after he escaped an assassination bid.

Imran claimed that this army officer had been behind the previous assassination attempts on him and that the same person was responsible for the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif who was shot dead in Kenya.

A letter written by the slain journalist’s mother to chief justice of Pakistan had references to the ‘powerful military circle’ which included the then Army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and the Director-General of ISI Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum.

While seeking a probe, Arshad’s mother had written that her son had started receiving death threats from Brigadier Muhammad Shafiq Malik a.k.a ‘Ganja Shaitan’, Brigadier Faheen Raza and Major Gen Faisal Naseer of ISI. Imran has alleged that the ‘top ISI officer’, who tried to kill him twice, was also involved in the brutal murder of Arshad.

It is Faisal Naseer a.k.a ‘Dirty Harry’ who is now at loggerheads with Imran.

Who is ‘Dirty Harry’?

  • Naseer was commissioned into the Pakistani Army in 1992.
  • He was recently promoted from Brigadier rank to Major General.
  • The ISI officer is also known as a ‘super spy’ for his role in Baluchistan and Sindh.
  • In 2022, he was appointed the de-facto second in command of the ISI.
