An aide of slain pro-Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar may now be facing a threat to life in Canada.

Another Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has claimed that Nijjar-aide Inderjeet Singh Gosal has been issued a “duty to warn” notice by the Canadian police.

Pannun says that Gosal remains committed to the Khalistani cause despite the threat.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police or Ontario police have not publicly confirmed this.

Pannun's claim comes amid strained ties between India and Canada following Nijjar's killing in British Columbia in June 2023. Four men have been charged with murder so far.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had alleged involvement of Indian government in the murder. The allegations have been rejected by India.
