European scientists have reconstructed the face of an Egyptian woman who died 2,000 years ago, using her mummified remains.
During their analysis, the researchers discovered that the woman, dubbed "The Mysterious Lady," was pregnant.

Using CT scans and X-rays, forensic specialists worked on facial reconstructions of the mummy, resulting in two different interpretations of the woman's likeness.

In both reconstructions, the dark-skinned young woman with brown eyes is seen looking straight ahead, providing a realistic image of her lost in thought.

An examination using tomographic imaging revealed last year that the woman was in her 20s when she died and was in the 26th-30th weeks of her pregnancy.

In the 1800s, the Mysterious Lady was discovered in royal tombs in northern Egypt. Scientists dated the body to the first century BC.

Originally, it was thought to be the remains of a priest, but in 2016, the mummified body was found to be an embalmed woman.
