Private texts, emails highlight what Fox News staff thinks of their news coverage

As Fox News defends itself against a massive defamation lawsuit over how it covered false claims surrounding the 2020 presidential election including inaccurate assertions that Dominion Voting Systems altered votes.

Eye-catching evidence has emerged from court filings in recent weeks revealing a split screen between what Fox was portraying to its viewers and what hosts and executives were saying about them behind the scenes.

A huge cache of internal emails, private texts, and depositions from Fox News hosts and employees submitted by Dominion's lawyers on March 8 shows, Fox’s entire prime-time lineup privately disparaged Trump lawyer Sidney Powell.

In its $1.6 billion lawsuit, voting machine maker Dominion argues that Fox repeatedly aired allegations that the company helped rig the general election against Trump despite many at the news organization privately believing the claims were false.
