Multiple reports suggest that the sudden spike in lemon sales is due to shortage of cold and flu medicines, forcing people to look for home remedies to contend with the virus.

The increased demand for the citrus fruit has boomed lemon farmers' business as people now look for natural remedies to fight COVID.

Prices in cities like Beijing, Shanghai have doubled with farmers, reportedly now working 14 hours a day to meet the growing demands.

So far there is no scientific evidence on whether Vitamic C can prevent COVID.

When stringent anti-virus measures were in place, tons of fresh produce from farms were going into waste due to bare minimum sales.
