Amid fresh spike, Beijing shuts parks and museums to curb Covid-19 spread

As of November 22, Beijing reported about 1438 new cases, while over 28,000 new infections were reported across China.

Amid a fresh spike in the Covid-19 cases, Chinese capital Beijing has closed its parks and museums, therefore compelling residents to stay inside.

The move comes a day after Beijing warned that it was experiencing the most severe phase of the pandemic with record high cases.

As of November 22, Beijing reported about 1438 new cases, while over 28,000 new infections have been reported across China.

Restrictions have been tightened in Beijing, which now also require people from other Chinese cities to mandatorily take a Covid test beforehand.

The recent outbreak of Covid cases in several Chinese cities comes at a time when the Communist ruled nation relaxed some of its restrictions including doing away with widespread lockdowns.
