Peshawar, Oct 13 (PTI) – Suhail Afridi from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was elected the new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, despite an assembly session disrupted by an opposition walkout.

Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati proceeded with the election despite the opposition's exit, during which Afridi secured 90 out of 145 votes. Rival candidates from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F), Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) failed to secure any votes.
