Absconding Indian-origin man who murdered a woman in Australia 4-years-ago arrested in Delhi

Indian man accused of murdering a woman back in 2018 in Australia and fleeing the country has been arrested by Delhi Police on Friday. The development was confirmed by Queensland Police on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The accused, identified as Rajwinder Singh, originally from Punjab's Buttar Kalan killed 24-year-old Toyah Cordingley at Wangetti Beach when she was walking her dog. Singh worked as a nursing assistant back then while Cordingley was a pharmacy worker.

Cordingley's body was discovered by her father in a grave with her dog tied near it.

During the investigation, the Queensland Police released Singh's images from the airport when he fled to India. They also offered a reward of 1 million Australian dollars for information leading to Singh's arrest.

In March 2021, the Australian government, requested India to extradite Singh which was approved in November this year.

According to multiple reports, Singh left behind his wife and kids in Australia.
