7-month-old found intoxicated after California mother feeds alcohol, arrested

In a shocking incident, a California mother allegedly gave her 7-week-old baby alcohol to subdue the child’s crying. Officials found the child in an intoxicated condition in Rialto City.

While authorities did not reveal the infant’s health condition, the 37-year-old mother was held in the West Valley Detention Center on a $60,000 bond. She is reportedly due to appear in court this week.

The mother, later identified as Honesti De La Torre, was driving through Rialto after midnight on Saturday when she pulled over her car to fill her child’s bottle with alcohol.

The child was found in an intoxicated condition, officials said.

She was then detained by law enforcement officers and charged with child endangerment, New York Post reported citing San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
