26/11 mastermind may have orchestrated car crash that killed Prophet cartoonist: report

Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks' death in a car accident on Tuesday may be a terror conspiracy. News18 has reported that the cartoonist, who sketched a controversial Prophet Muhammad's cartoon in 2007, may have been killed by terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Mumbai terror attack mastermind Sajid Mir may have orchestrated the crash that killed Vilks, report said quoting sources.

Vilks was reported to be travelling in a civilian police vehicle which collided with a truck near the town of Markaryd in southern Sweden.

The 75-year-old artist had been living under police protection after receiving death threats over the cartoon. His two bodyguards were also killed in the crash. The investigators had ruled out any foul play.

Vilks' killing appears to be the handiwork of Sajid Mir with the help of Pakistan's ISI and shows Lashkar's global footprints, the report said quoting sources.

Mir is also believed to be the brains behind a proposed attack, dubbed as 'Mickey Mouse Project' on a Danish newspaper that published Prophet's cartoons in 2005.
