Malhotra, 33, a resident of Hisar, was initially arrested on May 16 for allegedly transmitting sensitive information to Pakistani intelligence operatives.&nbsp;

A local court in Hisar on Monday extended the judicial custody of YouTuber and travel blogger Jyoti Malhotra by 14 days, as investigations continue into her alleged espionage links with Pakistan. The next hearing in the matter has been scheduled for June 23.
Malhotra, 33, a resident of Hisar, was initially arrested on May 16 for allegedly transmitting sensitive information to Pakistani intelligence operatives. She was produced in court the following day and remanded to five days in police custody. After her initial remand ended, she was sent to an additional four-day police remand, followed by 14-day judicial custody on May 26.
During Monday&rsquo;s proceedings, Jyoti appeared virtually from jail. Her counsel, advocate Kumar Mukesh, stated that the defence would soon file a petition seeking regular bail.
According to prison authorities, Jyoti has been spending most of her time in the jail library, reading books.
Meanwhile, Hisar police spokesperson Vikas Kumar revealed that a forensic analysis of the digital devices recovered from Malhotra&mdash;three mobile phones and a laptop&mdash;has unearthed approximately 12 terabytes of data. The report allegedly confirms direct communication with four individuals believed to be associated with Pakistan's intelligence network, along with suspected financial transactions and details of special privileges she reportedly received during her travel to Pakistan.
Malhotra has been booked under Sections 3 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, as well as Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is ongoing, with authorities continuing to examine the digital evidence for further leads.

Muhammad Shaheen Shah, a 26-year-old YouTuber from Eranellur, popularly known as 'Manavalan,' was transferred to a mental health center after reportedly experiencing distress following a haircut mandated by jail norms, officials said on Friday.
Shaheen Shah was remanded to judicial custody in Thrissur District Jail on charges of attempted murder. He allegedly tried to run over college students with a car on April 19, 2024, and was on the run until his arrest in Kodagu, Karnataka, earlier this week.
After being taken into custody, Shaheen Shah was observed to be in distress and was shifted to a hospital in Thrissur for further evaluation and treatment, a senior jail official confirmed.
The haircut, in line with jail protocols, reportedly triggered his distress. Following his arrest, his companions uploaded videos on his YouTube channel, showing him being taken to jail, which has since drawn significant public attention.
Shaheen Shah, who gained popularity through his YouTube channel, now faces legal proceedings, with a local court remanding him to 14-day judicial custody. The investigation into the alleged attempt to murder case is ongoing.

Gravit (25) and Nandini (22) were YouTubers and hailed from Uttarakhand&rsquo;s Dehradun, they said.
They had been living in the residential building located in Bahadurgarh for the past one month, police said.
The couple was taken to a hospital where they were declared brought dead, they said, adding that it was yet to be ascertained why they took the extreme step.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, police said.&nbsp;

Mumbai Police on December 26 arrested two Russian YouTubers for allegedly breaking into the Imperial Twin Towers complex in Tardeo to film a stunt video.
The duo, identified as Roman Proshin and Maksim Shcherbakow reportedly told police that they had walked up to the 58th floor of one of the towers and intended to come down from the outside as part of their stunt.

Ren, who caused massive social outrage, was found guilty of violating the moral integrity of the homeless man. While the Youtuber may have his jail time waived, he will have to pay his victim 20,000 Euros in damages.
