Vinesh Phogat took to Twitter to inform that the scheduled press conference on Thursday by top Indian wrestlers including herself, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia has been postponed.

Commonwealth Games gold medallist Vinesh Phogat took to Twitter to inform that the scheduled press conference on Thursday by top Indian wrestlers including herself, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia has been postponed.
The grapplers were due to hold a briefing at Rajghat in Delhi but since section 144 was imposed in the area due to independence day preparations, the wrestlers decided to reschedule it.

Pertinently, the Oversight Committee that was formed by Sports ministry to look into the allegations had also asked for video and audio proofs.&nbsp;

Indian Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik has alleged that the minor complainant in the sexual harassment case against former WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh changed her statement under pressure.
"There's huge pressure on us to compromise," she said during an interview with NDTV, accusing Brij Bhushan of getting his men to call and threaten the complainants.
Protesting wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik said that the 'minor' wrestler's father is going through depression because of the pressure he has been put under, following which he also withdrew the complaint.
With the Asian Games coming up, Sakshi Malik has told the media that they won't be participating in the games if Brij Bhushan isn't arrested by then.

International referee Jagbir Singh, who is one of the 125 potential witnesses, in the wrestlers' sexual assault case against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has made serious allegations against the Wrestling Federation of India chief in some other incidents.&nbsp; While speaking to NDTV, Jagbir&nbsp;said during a dinner program of a competition in Phuket, Thailand he saw Brij Bhushan's 'horrifying side' The referee accused him of molesting wrestlers, touching women wrestlers inappropriately forcefully hugging them and offering them training gear while he was inebriated.&nbsp; His barbarity was unbearable, the referee said.&nbsp; He also revealed that the female wrestlers left the dinner and went away.&nbsp; He further alleged that the former WFI chief had grabbed a woman wrestler in a place one should not touch a woman in March last year.&nbsp; When he was asked about remaining silent for so long, Singh said, 'When the protector himself becomes the assaulter there's nowhere to go' As per him, the women and others feared for their careers as he was the WFI chief and had a massive influence.&nbsp;

Phogat's tweet came days after the 'minor', whose complaint had formed basis of FIR against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh under the POCSO Act reportedly withdrew her sexual harassment allegations against the outgoing WFI president.

He further said that for the time being the June 9 protest has been called off till another date is decided by the wrestlers.&nbsp;
Meanwhile, a disgruntled Naresh Tikait spoke to the Times of India, &lsquo;If the complainants themselves have decided for a compromise, what can we say?&rsquo;&nbsp;
The BKU President added that they have no idea under what circumstances or pressure the wrestlers decided to rejoin the duties or what the details of the discussion between them and the Home Minister were. After all, it&rsquo;s all about the grapplers, not about the Khaps.&nbsp;
The June 9 protest was scheduled to be held at Delhi&rsquo;s Jantar Mantar by Khap leaders, who had issued an ultimatum to the Centre, demanding ex-Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brijbhushan Sharan Singh&rsquo;s arrest.&nbsp;
The farmer leaders had stated that the government had until Friday to arrest Singh or else they would sit in protest with wrestlers at Jantar Mantar and also organise protests across the country.&nbsp;

The school coach who took students to a resort in Raigad on the pretext of a state-level competition was found guilty of sexually assaulting them. Quashing the 42-year-old coach's claims of being falsely accused, Special Judge Seema C Jadhav in her verdict noted, 'no parent would put their daughter's reputation at stake and despose falsely about sexual abuse'&nbsp; She further stated that the act of making students touch his private parts or touching their chest was not coaching but sexual assault.&nbsp; In August 2016, an anonymous complaint was raised by the victims' parents but no action was taken. They, then wrote to the city police commissioner and the FIR was registered one month later in September 2016.&nbsp; On the delay in lodging the FIR, Jadhav said, 'the fact that an anonymous complaint disclosing the act of sexual assault of various students was sent to police shows the issue was raised, discussed and was not unattended' The coach who has been found guilty of assaulting five girls used to teach the students lagori, wrestling kabaddi and other games at a Mumbai school. After Supreme Court's order, Delhi Police filed 2 FIRs against former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on April 28th after protesting wrestlers accused the 6-time MP of sexual harassment.&nbsp; The FIR mentions 6 adult wrestlers and a minor who have accused the Kaiserganj MP of molestation.&nbsp; While Singh has been booked under multiple sections of law in the FIRs, his former assistant secretary Vinod Tomar has also been named. Editorji explains the different IPC &amp; POCSO sections and the punishment they could entail if Brij Bhushan is found guilty---&nbsp; Section 10 of POCSO (Cognisable &amp; non-bailable) The offender in this section is booked under the offense of aggravated sexual assault -- committing sexual assault on a child whose age is less than 18 in public premises by any public servant or by someone who has custody of the child. The offender, in this case, shall face a punishment of no less than 5 years and up to 7 years. The offender shall also be liable to pay a fine.&nbsp; Section 354 of IPC (Cognisable &amp; non-bailable) As per Indian Code, if a person assaults or uses criminal force with the intention of outraging a woman's modesty, the person shall face a punishment of no less than a year and up to 5 years.&nbsp; Section 354A of IPC (Cognisable &amp; bailable) India code notes, if a person demands sexual favours, shows pornography against a woman's will, makes sexually coloured remarks, or makes any unwelcomed physical contact, the person shall face a 3-year imprisonment and a fine or both.&nbsp; Section 354D of IPC (Cognisable &amp; bailable) If a person stalks a woman on the internet or follows her despite a clear indication of disinterest by her, the person shall be punished for up to 3 years on the first conviction and up to 5 years on the 2nd conviction. The accused shall also have to pay a fine.&nbsp; Section 34 of IPC If a criminal act is done by more than one person, each person will be liable for that act and shall face imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or a fine or both.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Sangeeta Phogat and Vinesh Phogat were detained by Delhi police on Sunday afternoon during their protest march to the newly-inaugurated Parliament building. Several visuals showed the protesting grapplers being dragged into police buses one after the other. Olympic bronze medallist Sakshi Malik was also captured talking to the reporters from the window of the bus. The wrestlers were on their way to the new Parliament building for their Women&rsquo;s Mahapanchayat that was scheduled for Sunday. However, they were stopped by cops midway and their supporters were detained.
Vinesh Phogat, who spoke to the media gathered at the protest site, had earlier said, &lsquo;We just want to carry out a peaceful protest. We have not broken any (police) barricades nor do we intend to. Our protest is peaceful." Meanwhile, Delhi Police had made a prior statement where they had said that they will not let anything hamper the inauguration of the new Parliament building, not even the wrestlers&rsquo; protest.

"This battle has gone beyond the athletes now as political parties have become part of it. From day one of the protest, I felt that this protest was politically motivated and not the voice of the athletes. They have been influenced by politicians." Singh said

Former WFI president BrijBhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment by India's top wrestlers, on Sunday claimed that the athletes' protest at Jantar Mantar was being driven by the politicians from day one.
Country's top wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, who have been protesting since April 23, responded to the claim in their press conference.
The wrestlers claimed that they don't even know how many MP's or MLA's are their in total, and that whatever they are saying is coming right from their hearts rather than being influenced by anyone.
