In a notable shift, women are outpacing men in monthly investment contributions, according to a recent study. FinEdge, a technology-driven investment management firm, revealed that women are now investing an average of 14,347 rupees per month through systematic investment plans (SIP), surpassing men's average of 13,704 rupees.
Harsh Gahlaut, CEO of FinEdge, said, &ldquo;It is evident from the study that women are not only investing more, but they are also investing smarter. By allocating a higher percentage of their monthly income towards their financial goals, women are taking proactive steps towards securing their financial future and achieving long-term success.&rdquo;
The study, conducted by FinEdge among 4,351 female clients aged 23 to 64 in March 2024, coinciding with International Women&rsquo;s Day, sheds light on a growing trend of financial empowerment among women.
Notably, the survey found that in 2023, women accounted for 41% of new investors at FinEdge, reflecting an increasing awareness and pursuit of financial independence among women.

As backlash around the Women's Day message grew, Flipkart tweeted an apology today saying that "We messed up and we are sorry," the e-commerce company wrote on Twitter. "We did not intend to hurt anyone's sentiments and apologise for the Women's Day message shared earlier," it added.
‘WOMEN BELONG IN THE KITCHEN’
This is not the first time that a brand is being called out for a "sexist" Women's Day message. 
Last year, Burger King decided that the best way to mark International Women’s Day would be to tweet: “Women belong in the kitchen.” Of course, the fast food giant did follow up with several other tweets, saying, “If they want to, of course”, and announcing a scholarship scheme that aimed to rebalance the gender ratio in the restaurant industry. 
After deciding to delete the original tweet, Burger King published the usual social media apology: “We hear you. We got our initial tweet wrong and we’re sorry.” A year later, though, Twitter still hasn’t forgotten the company that set the bar for offensive IWD posts.

In a meeting of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha&nbsp;it was decided that farmers will block Kundli&ndash;Manesar&ndash;Palwal Expressway at different points between 11 am &amp; 4 pm on March 6 as the farmers' protest enters day 100, Yogendra Yadav informed on Tuesday.
On Womens' Day on March 8, women protesters will lead the protest at Delhi borders and other places across the country, Yadav said. Further, on March 15 farmers will join labourers &amp; employees in protest against privatisation and corporatization.
He also said they will appeal to people in poll bound states to punish the BJP and its allies who brought anti-farmer laws in the assembly elections. 'We will go to the boll-bound states', Yadav said and added that the programme will begin in Kolkata on March 12 with a public meeting.&nbsp;
Bhartiya Kisan Union's&nbsp;Balbir S Rajewal&nbsp;also spoke of sending teams to states going to polls and appealing to people to vote against the BJP.
