On January 20, Delhi reported&nbsp;12,306 new infections, lower than the&nbsp;13,785 count seen a day earlier. The positivity rate in the national capital also declined from 23.86% on January 19 to 21.48% on January 20. However,&nbsp;the daily death toll went up from 35 on January 19, to 43 a day later.

Following is a list of who all will be exempted during the weekend curfew imposed in Delhi from Friday 10 pm to Monday 5 am:
1: Officers and officials involved in essential and emergency services shall be allowed to the production of valid identity cards during night and weekend curfew.
2: Officers and officials of the Government of India, its autonomous or subordinate offices, and PSUs on the production of valid identity cards and according to the restrictions imposed by the Union government.
3: Judges and all Judicial officers, staff members of all courts of Delhi as well as advocates, legal counsels, connected with the case hearing on the production of valid identity cards, service ID Card, photo entry passes, and permission letters issued by the court administration.

6: Pregnant women and patients for getting medical and health services along with an attendant, on the production of valid identity card and doctor's prescription) Persons who are going for Covid-19 testing or vaccination, on the production of valid identity cards.
7: Persons coming from or going to airports, railway stations, inter-state bus terminuses&nbsp;are allowed to travel on the production of a valid ticket.
8: Electronic and print Media on production of valid identity cards.
9: Persons or students shall be allowed to appear in the examination on the production of a valid admit card. The examination staff deployed for exam duties shall be allowed to travel on the production of a valid identity card or examination duty order.

The number of new cases and positivity rate in the city is the highest since May 18. According to the Graded Response Action Plan, a positivity rate of more than five per cent for two consecutive days is one of the criteria to declare a '<a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/local/3-dead-as-heavy-rains-batter-chennai-red-alert-issued-1640914772586" target="_blank">red alert</a>' which would mean a 'total curfew' and halting of most economic activities in the capital.
