<p>A 28-year-old woman, Shreya Jain, from Delhi collapsed and died while dancing at the 'mehndi' ceremony ahead of her wedding in Nainital.</p>
<p>According to Times of India report, the family had planned a destination wedding and booked a luxurious resort in Naukuchiatal.</p>
<p>However, the festivities soon turned into a tragedy. Shreya was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her last rites were held at Kathgodam.</p>
<p>A police official said that she likely died due to cardiopulmonary complications.</p>
<p>Shreya's father said that her daughter had completed her MBA after BTech while the groom works in an IT company.</p>

<p>Six people were injured in a fight that broke out at a wedding function here in Uttar Pradesh over shortage of rasgullas, police said on Monday.</p>
<p>The incident was reported from the Shamsabad area around Sunday midnight. The injured were hospitalised and their condition is stable, they said.</p>
<p>"Six people were injured in the incident and a case has been registered. Those who are in hospital are out of danger," SHO Shamsabad police station Anil Sharma said.</p>
<p>"On Sunday, there was a wedding function at the residence of Brijbhan Kushwaha... at the function, a person passed a comment on the shortage of rasgullas," he said.</p>
<p>This led to a fight, and Bhagwan Devi, Yogesh, Manoj, Kailash, Dharmendra and Pawan were injured, Sharma said</p>
<p>Last year in October, a man was killed in a fight over a shortage of sweets at a wedding in Etmadpur.</p>

<p><strong>Wedding Season:&nbsp;</strong>Wedding bells across the country are being polished as the first spell of the season begins from November 23, the day of Dev Uthan Ekadashi and goes on till December 15. A survey conducted by research arm of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has estimated that around 35 lakh weddings will be solemnised across the country with a massive flow of about Rs 4.25 lakh crores by way of wedding purchasing and obtaining various services in the wedding business. This flow is expected to be highest so far</p>
<h3><strong>Wedding Economy</strong></h3>
<p>As per CAIT Delhi alone will witness more than 3.5 lakh weddings generating a business of about Rs 1 lakh crore. All over the country during the same period last year, about 32 lakh weddings took place and expenses were estimated at Rs 3.75 lakh crore.</p>
<p>The estimated budgets of weddings this season are:&nbsp;</p>
<ol style="list-style-type: lower-alpha;">
<li>6 lakh weddings will have an estimated expenditure of Rs 3 lakh each</li>
<li>12 lakh weddings will cost about Rs 10 lakhs each</li>
<li>50, 000 weddings will have Rs 50 lakhs expenditure per wedding</li>
<li>50,000 weddings will have a budget of Rs 1 crore or more</li>

<p>Traders across the country have made elaborate preparations and are keeping all arrangements up to date with them to meet the possible rush of customers. As per the traders, about 80% of the expenditure goes to third party agencies working on the wedding preparations.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Businesses of home renovation also sees a boom before the wedding season. Along with this the demand for jewellery, wedding clothing, dry fruits and fruits, sweets among several other items are also expected to rise.&nbsp;</p>

As Pakistan continues to face economic crisis, the cabinet on Tuesday announced early closure of markets and wedding halls as part of a raft of measures under the energy conservation plan. 

<p>Asif said that all government buildings and offices would also reduce use of energy under the plan and a policy to work from home would also be completed in up to 10 days.</p>

<p>Cash-strapped Pakistan on Tuesday announced early closure of markets and wedding halls as part of a raft of measures under the energy conservation plan as the government struggled to revive the economy.</p>
<p>Briefing the media after a meeting of the cabinet which approved the National Energy Conservation Plan to save energy and decrease dependence on imported oil, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said markets would close at 8.30pm while wedding halls would shut doors by 10.00pm respectively, which will "save us Rs 60 billion".</p>
<p>Announcing more measures, he said that manufacturing of incandescent bulbs would be stopped from February 1 while production of inefficient fans would be stopped from July. He said these measures would help to save another Rs22 billion.</p>
<p>The government would also make the use of conical geysers mandatory within a year, which by using less gas would save Rs 92 billion, and alternative use of street lights would save another Rs 4 billion.</p>
<p>Asif said that all government buildings and offices would also reduce use of energy under the plan and a policy to work from home would also be completed in up to 10 days.</p>
<p>"No lights were on in the cabinet meeting today. The meeting was held in full sunlight," he said, providing an example for the country to follow.</p>
<p>Asif also said that the cabinet planned to conserve 30 per cent of the electricity used by government departments, which would save Rs62 billion.</p>

<p>The matter aggravated after groom's side, as per a Times of India report, approached Kotwali Police saying that wedding cards were already printed.</p>
<p>Both sides eventually agreed to settle the matter and call off the wedding scheduled for November 5. The two got engaged in June this year.</p>

<p>An Indian marriage is not less than any festival. The upcoming wedding season in India will not only be fun and fascinating for the bride, groom but also for the wedding industry, as according to Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), 32 lakh weddings scheduled to take place between 4 November to 14 December will generate business of at least ₹3.75 lakh crore.</p>
<p>The wedding industry had been slated to grow by at least 200% in 2022 according to industry experts. This comes as people rush to conduct and complete marriage ceremonies after facing Covid pandemic induced lockdown for over two years.</p>
<p>The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) based its assessment on a survey conducted by its research arm. The survey was carried out in 35 cities with 4,302 traders and service providers.</p>
<p>According to reports, Delhi alone will witness more than 3.5 lakh weddings this season, which is likely to generate a business of about ₹75,000 crore.</p>

<p>In a peculiar incident, a Gurugram couple got their pet dog married to a<br>neighbourhood canine by following similar rituals of a traditional Indian wedding.<br>Sheru (male dog) and Sweety (female dog) took the 'Pheras' today.</p>
<p>According to the pet owners, for the marriage, 100 invitation cards were sent to a neighbourhood of Jile Singh Colony in Palam Vihar Extension, as they attended the marriage ceremony as 'Baraatis'.</p>
<p>Talking to ANI, Savita alias Rani, guardian of a female dog named Sweety said, "I m a<br>pet lover and as a couple, we used to take care of pets. I don't have a child so Sweety is our kid. My husband used to go to the temple and feed animals and one day a stray dog followed him and came to us 3 years back. We named her Sweety. everyone used to say that we should get Sweety married. We discussed it and then eventually a programme was made in just 4 days. We decided to follow all rituals."<br>Savita did mention that ceremonies like Haldi were also done for both the dogs, while she was displaying her Mehendi.</p>
<p>Manita, owner of male dog Sheru said," We have been together with Sheru for the last eight years. We have always treated him like our child. we discussed with our<br>neighbours about the marriage of our dogs casually but then we suddenly got serious about it."</p>
<p>Manita asserted that the owners of the dogs are taking this marriage seriously and<br>prepared for it just like customary marriages and followed all the rituals.<br>"We invited around 100 people. We printed 25 cards and the rest was an online<br>invitation," Manita added. When asked how other people reacted to the invitation, Manita said, "Some people like it and some people don't. We are not concerned at all. We just followed what we desired."</p>
<p>On similar lines, Savita mentioned, "People used to say that police will pick us and put us in Jail but we are not bothered. Since we are a childless couple and this is our only happiness so today my husband is happy as we are getting Sweety married."<br>Raja, a tea seller, and owner of Sweety was emotional during the ceremony and<br>narrated the whole incident," I used to visit the temple and since we don't have a child then we used to take care of the pets.</p>
<p>Sweety has been part of our lives for the last three years and she is like my daughter. For preparation, we have bought the utensils and sarees which we do for usual wedding preparation. I will feel bad as a father because for three years I have nurtured her as a guardian."</p>
<p>The marriage ceremony was accompanied by 'dhols' and people danced with full<br>enthusiasm for the canine wedding.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While the per day expense of a marriage garden in the state is from Rs 50,000 to Rs 10-12 lakh depending upon location and size, there are dharmshalas with 25-40 rooms with good facilities are available for around 2 lakh per day.</p>
<p>Rajasthan is famous for destination weddings at places like Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Sawaimadhopur and Kumbhalgarh, where businessmen and celebrities have tied the knot in the past.</p>

<p>Hoteliers across India are looking at the wedding season with great hope as the demand is expected to surpass pre-Covid levels in the wedding season spanning from October end till March 2022.<br><br>According to the Federation of Hotel &amp; Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI), in late 2021, booking cancellations for Christmas and New Year celebrations including weddings and planned events due to the surge in Covid cases had caused a loss of Rs 200 crore to the hospitality industry.<br><br>But this year, hotel chain, Wyndham has already clocked 100 per cent bookings on wedding dates in various Indian cities, like Chandigarh, Kochi, Dehradun, Mussoorie, Kasauli, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Udaipur and Jaipur.<br><br>And Royal Orchid and Regenta Hotels present in Goa, Mussoorie, Ranthambore, and Hampi too admitted to improved demand for hotels in the wedding season according to the Economic Times report.</p>
