Actor Vaani Kapoor is all set to make her OTT debut with Yash Raj Films&rsquo; (YRF) new show &lsquo;Mandala Murders&rsquo;. She will star opposite Vaibhav Raj Gupta, best known for his role in &lsquo;Gullak&rsquo;. The show also features actors Surveen Chawla and Jameel Khan in key roles.
&lsquo;Mandala Murders&rsquo; has been created by filmmaker Gopi Puthran of &lsquo;Mardaani 2&rsquo; fame. He will also direct the &lsquo;edge of the seat entertainer&rsquo; series. Manan Rawat, who has previously worked as an Associate Director on many YRF films, will be the co-director of the series.

The shoot of &lsquo;Mandala Murders&rsquo; will commence in Uttar Pradesh from tomorrow. After about a month, the cast and crew will head to Delhi and Mumbai to finish the filming. In UP, the team will shoot in Prayagraj, Lucknow, and Varanasi.

Father-to-be Ranbir Kapoor made his big-screen comeback with Shamshera after a four-year hiatus. The movie's first look and trailer had viewers on the edge of their seats as they eagerly awaited its release. However, the movie failed to enthral the audience, and it failed at the box office. The film received bad reviews from both critics and audiences. 
After a week since the film's release, director Karan Malhotra has finally spoken out about the "critique" the movie has received. He took to Instagram to express his feelings in a post. 
The post read, ‘My Dearest Shamshera, you are majestic the way you are. It is important for me to express myself on this platform because here is where is all the love, the hate, the celebration and the humiliation exists for you. I want to unimaginably apologise to you for abandoning you for these past few days as I could not handle the hate and rage. My withdrawal was my weakness and there are no excuses for it."
He added, "But now I am here, standing beside you hand in hand feeling proud and honoured that you are mine, Will face everything together, the good, the bad and the ugly. And a huge shout out to the Shamshera family, the cast and crew of Shamshera. The love, the blessings and the concern that has been showered upon us are the most precious and nobody can take that away from us.’’

Shamshera was touted as a larger-than-life film, and it also starred Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. It was also Ranbir's first attempt at a period action film, however it did not fare well with the audience.

This is the first time people will witness the face-off between real Sanju and reel Sanju. However, did you know that while shooting this film Sanjay Dutt was battling cancer? In a recent interview with Times Of India, director Karan Malhotra revealed that the actor silently fought cancer during the shoot without letting anyone know how difficult it was for him.

Apart from 'Shamshera,' Ranbir Kapoor will also be seen in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, co-starring his wife Alia Bhatt, 'Animal' and Luv Ranjan&rsquo;s untitled next.

Vaani Kapoor is someone who never shies away from experimenting with roles. In her last released film ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ (in which Ayushmann Khurrana was her co-star), she played the role of a transwoman. 
As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, Vaani Kapoor is now all set to play the look-alike of a porn star in the film ‘Sarvagunn Sampanna’. The film is being produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films.
The report stated that the film is of the social-comedy genre. The film is reported to be a women-centric film which has been set in the ninety’s era.  The film will see Vaani’s character playing the role of a bold and dignified woman who will leave no stone unturned when it comes to fighting for her integrity. The film is reported to be directed by the debutante film-maker Shonali Rattan, wife of film-maker Kunal Deshmukh.
Besides this film, Vaani Kapoor will be seen in ‘Shamshera’, whose poster were released recently. She has been paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor in the film, which has been directed by Karan Malhotra. The film is scheduled to be released on July 22 this year. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt in a pivotal role.
