Urban Company asks for a week's time to address the issue, while the protesters demand reinstating the blocked IDs and hear out their grievances

The beauty segment employees of Urban Company protested for two days at its Gurgaon office over alleged blocking of IDs by the company. This is the 2nd time Urban company workers had staged a protest.
The partners demand the company to reinstate their blocked IDs. They had also asked the company to hear out their grievances. As per Money Control, partners say that the company has asked for a week&rsquo;s time, but do not seem optimistic that their IDs will be reinstated.&nbsp;
As per the report, IDs were blocked due to issues related to booking cancellations and decline in user ratings. A partner is blocked if they have above 4 cancellations in a month. Meanwhile, a minimum rating of&nbsp; 4.7 in classic and prime categories and 4.85 for Luxe partners is required to escape being blocked by the platform. However, the employees say that this is almost impossible to maintain.&nbsp;
&ldquo;There is no support, there is no support, the company does not care about the girls working on the platform,&rdquo; Protester told Moneycontrol.&nbsp;
Meanwhile, the partners also claim that they invest as much as Rs 1 lakh for training. They also spend on purchase of materials required for the service.&nbsp;

It has not been even been two months since home services provider Urban Company faced allegations of work exploitation from workers on the platform and once again the gates of the startup in Gurgaon were flooded with 'partners' protesting sweeping changes to their work-payment model.More than hundred workers from different parts on the country started a strike on Monday and marked protest outside the gates of the company. At the heart of the protest is a new system that will have them plan their monthly calendar of work and pay an upfront subscription fee to secure this work plan. The CEO of Urban Company reportedly held brief inconclusive discussion with representatives of the protesting gig workers. 
Entrackr reported that more than fifty protesting women stayed overnight in front of the company’s Gurgaon office and reportedly company shut the gates on them at night amid freezing temperatures, curtailing washroom access for them.
In fact reports now indicate that home services provider Urban Company has filed a lawsuit against women ‘partners’ working with the platform, seeking directions to the workers, their family members and other associates to cease their ‘illegal’ protest and vacate the company’s office, main entrance and parking lot.
