Trisha comment: South actors' body mulls ban on Mansoor Khan till he apologizes

&nbsp;The South Indian Artistes' Association (SIAA), also known as Nadigar Sangam, on Sunday strongly condemned actor Mansoor Ali Khan for his sexist comments against actress Trisha Krishnan and demanded that he make a public apology.
Slamming Khan for his objectionable, disrespectful remarks -- against Trisha and a similar comment on two other actresses -- in a media interaction, the popular actors' body said it is considering temporarily suspending Khan's membership till such time he tendered an apology.
Khushbu and Roja are the other two actresses. Khan had made a passing reference to the two actresses while recently commenting on Trisha.
SIAA president and noted actor M Nasser said Khan had made the remark while speaking to journalists and he must similarly apologise to the actresses in front of the media. In a statement here, Nasser assured SIAA's full support to the actresses.
Khan's comment 'in the name of comedy' is disrespectful and shocking, the actors forum said and condemned him for his sexist remarks.
In a social media post, Trisha Krishnan strongly condemned Khan for his 'sexist, disrespectful and misogynistic and repulsive,' comment.
Khan had essayed a role in the recent Vijay-Trisha blockbuster movie 'Leo'. The objectionable comment had the flick 'Leo' as its background.
Reposting Trisha's anguish, Khushbu Sundar, BJP functionary and noted actress said on "X": "As a member of NCW, I have already taken up the issue of Mansoor Ali khan with my senior and will be taking an action on it. Nobody can get away with such a filthy mind. I stand with @trishtrashers and my other colleagues where this man speaks in such a sexist disgusting mindset about them, including me. When we are fighting tooth &amp; nail to protect women &amp; bring dignity to them, such men are like a bot in our society." Condemning Khan, film director and writer Lokesh Kanagaraj said on "X" that he was disheartened and enraged to hear the misogynistic comments. 'Leo' is Kanagaraj's directorial.
Khan, who faced strong criticism and opposition on the social media as well for his remarks against women, said in a statement that he had always respected actresses and blamed 'vested interests' for a 'distorted' version of his comment.&nbsp;

Mansoor had said that he was disappointed about not being able to share the screen with Trisha and was hoping to have a 'bedroom scene' with her.

Director Lokesh Kanagraj, who helmed Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo', broke his silence on actor Mansoor Ali Khan's comment on Trisha Krishnan. He took to social media to condemn Mansoor's remark and said he was enraged.&nbsp; In a new social media post, Lokesh quoted Trisha's vow to never work with the actor again and insisted that respect for all fellow professionals should be non-negotiable in any industry. Lokesh wrote on X, "Disheartened and enraged to hear the misogynistic comments made by Mr.Mansoor Ali Khan, given that we all worked in the same team. Respect for women, fellow artists and professionals should be a non-negotiable in any industry and I absolutely condemn this behaviour." An ANI report claimed that Mansoor said in a new interview that when he got to know he was working with Trisha in Leo, he thought that there would be "a bedroom scene in the film". "I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in a number of movies and it's not new to me. In response to Mansoor's video, Trisha posted about the &ldquo;vile and disgusting manner&rdquo; in which Mansoor spoke about her in the interview. Condemnding it and calling it disrespectful, sexist, repulsive, misogynistic, and in bad taste, Trisha added, "He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. In the viral pic, Trisha a.k.a Princess Kundavai and Aishwarya a.k.a queen Nandini are clicking a selfie and both look breathtakingly gorgeous in their outfits. Both the actors are playing the characters of arch-rivals in the story and people cannot wait to witness the ultimate face-off scene between these two in ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’.
