Production of sixth season paused?
The filming of the sixth season, which would focus on the period between the late 1990s and early 2000s, has been paused due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8. The production of the Emmy-winning series was set to begin this fall. An insider close to the production told New York Post that the filming will not happen for at least a week.  
‘We have our own version of Operation London Bridge. This is particularly pertinent for if we are filming. Filming will shut down immediately if we are in production, for at least a week. There would also be lots of discussion about when to restart,’ the insider said.

Well, season 5 is not the final season of &lsquo;The Crown&rsquo;. The filming for the sixth season has already begun. It was suspended briefly following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8. 2022.&nbsp;
The plot of the sixth season will reportedly cover the late '90s and early 2000s. It will focus on young Prince William and Prince Harry. It's also believed that the show will introduce Kate Middleton to show the beginning of her romance with William at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
The controversy
Ahead of the release of season five on Netflix, the show landed itself in a controversy over its depiction of the royal family. Former UK Prime Minister John Major called the series a &lsquo;barrel-load of nonsense&rsquo; after it was reported that season five includes a fictionalized scene that shows Prince Charles speaking with Major about the possible abdication of his mother Queen Elizabeth II.&nbsp;
Dame Judi Dench also penned an open letter to the UK&rsquo;s The Times condemning the Netflix royal drama for presenting &lsquo;an inaccurate and hurtful account of history.&rsquo; She urged &lsquo;The Crown&rsquo; to add a disclaimer at the beginning of every episode to state that the series is a &lsquo;fictionalised drama.&rsquo;
In response, Netflix released a statement, saying that &lsquo;The Crown&rsquo; has always been presented as a drama based on historical events. It also added a disclaimer with the trailer that mentioned that the series has been inspired by real events, and this fictional dramatisation tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that shaped her reign.&nbsp;
No previous trailers have used the word 'fictional' in the description.

As per Variety report, Judi stated that she was hurt by reports that the forthcoming season would include scenes of Prince Charles lobbying to force his mother&rsquo;s abdication. The actor feels it will give an &lsquo;inaccurate and hurtful account of history&rsquo;.

He clarified that he has enormous sympathy for a man in his position, a family in their position. He added that people are more understanding and compassionate than we expect sometimes.
Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki have also defended the Netflix drama, and they believe makers have dealt with the subject sensitively.

A recent report from The Daily Mail claims that the series shows King Charles swaying Prime Minister John Major in an attempt to force his mother Queen Elizabeth II&rsquo;s abdication when he was Prince of Wales.
On Sunday, Sir John Major told The Mail that his meeting with King Charles never happened and called the scene a &lsquo;barrel load of malicious nonsense&rsquo;.
A source told the publication that &lsquo;all the dialogue is completely made up, and all the one-to-one conversations on screen are utter fiction and some scenes have been entirely created for dramatic and commercial purposes with little regard for the truth. People should be boycotting it.&rsquo;

Pakistani star Humayun Saeed is set to feature as Dr Hasnat Khan, who was in a relationship with Princess Diana, on the upcoming fifth season of the acclaimed Netflix series "The Crown".
On the hit royal drama, Saeed will play Khan, a British-Pakistani heart surgeon who practised at London's Royal Brompton Hospital.
According to Variety, Hasnat Khan's 2004 statement to the Metropolitan Police, which was submitted in 2008 to an inquest into Diana's death, stated that he was in a relationship with her from 1995-1997 and that she broke up with him after she met Dodi Fayed at a holiday with Mohammed Al Fayed and his family.
Fayed and Diana died in a road accident in Paris in 1997.
"The Crown" -- which follows the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II -- will be Saeed's first global show, after starting his career in 1999 with the Pakistani Urdu film "Inteha" and featuring in hits like the "Jawani Phir Nahi Ani" franchise and the 2017 romantic comedy "Punjab Nahi Jaungi". The 50-year-old actor has also featured on several Pakistani TV shows.
Season five of "The Crown" features "Tenet" star Elizabeth Debicki playing Diana while Khalid Abdalla, of "The Kite Runner" fame, has been cast as Fayed.

Pakistani star Humayun Saeed is set to feature as Dr Hasnat Khan, who was in a relationship with Princess Diana, on the upcoming fifth season of the acclaimed Netflix series "The Crown".
On the hit royal drama, Saeed will play Khan, a British-Pakistani heart surgeon who practised at London's Royal Brompton Hospital.

According to Variety, Hasnat Khan's 2004 statement to the Metropolitan Police, which was submitted in 2008 to an inquest into Diana's death, stated that he was in a relationship with her from 1995-1997 and that she broke up with him after she met Dodi Fayed at a holiday with Mohammed Al Fayed and his family.
Fayed and Diana died in a road accident in Paris in 1997.

According to Variety, Hasnat Khan's 2004 statement to the Metropolitan Police, which was submitted in 2008 to an inquest into Diana's death, stated that he was in a relationship with her from 1995-1997 and that she broke up with him after she met Dodi Fayed at a holiday with Mohammed Al Fayed and his family.
Fayed and Diana died in a road accident in Paris in 1997.
"The Crown" -- which follows the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II -- will be Saeed's first global show, after starting his career in 1999 with the Pakistani Urdu film "Inteha" and featuring in hits like the "Jawani Phir Nahi Ani" franchise and the 2017 romantic comedy "Punjab Nahi Jaungi". The 50-year-old actor has also featured on several Pakistani TV shows.
