Samsung's Galaxy Tab S8+ is the latest flagship Android tablet on the block, and thanks to a&nbsp;Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, massive 12.4-inch AMOLED screen and more, it promises to offer the best balance of price and specs.

If you&rsquo;re in the market for a flagship Android tablet, then you will have considered the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/tech-news/samsung-launches-galaxy-tab-s8-series-in-india-check-prices-1645431834940" target="_blank">Samsung Galaxy Tab S series</a>, and this year&rsquo;s Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series is better and bigger than ever before. Samsung has expanded the range beyond the regular S8 and S8+, and added the S8 Ultra model, which gets all the bells and whistles the company could think of. But what if you don&rsquo;t need all the bells and whistles. What if you just needed a big screen and peak performance? Well, that&rsquo;s where this Galaxy Tab S8+ comes in. Design &amp; Display The Galaxy Tab S8+ sports a very familiar design to the previous Tab S7 series, in fact it&rsquo;s nearly identical in form factor to the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/samsung-tab-s7-review-step-aside-ipad-pro-1600148874191" target="_blank">Tab S7+</a> and the more recent <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/samsung-galaxy-tab-s7-fe-review-full-specs-price-in-depth-feature-review-1625304157591" target="_blank">Tab S7 FE</a>. There&rsquo;s a large 12.4-inch screen on the front with slim bezels and a horizontally-mounted front-facing camera. The Tab S8+ is really quite slim at just 5.7mm, and weighs 572g, making it much easier to lug around as compared to even a compact laptop. On the sides you&rsquo;ll see four speaker grilles, two on each side. This quad speaker setup is tuned by AKG and features support for Dolby Atmos, so whether you&rsquo;re playing games or watching content, the sound experience is great. There&rsquo;s excellent audio separation, music doesn&rsquo;t sound tinny, and the speakers get quite loud at max volume. This audio experience is paired with a massive 12.4-inch Super AMOLED display that features a 2800 x 1752 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. As expected, colour reproduction on this screen is very vibrant with quite a bit of contrast, which makes content-watching an absolute treat. It also helps that it&rsquo;s a 16:10 aspect ratio, so movies and videos won&rsquo;t have giant black bars surrounding them and ruining the experience. Honestly, for me that&rsquo;s one of the best use cases of this device, the Tab S8+ served as the perfect portable content consumption device thanks to its large screen and great display.

It&rsquo;s great for doing simple things like watching movies, sure, but out the screws to it productivity-wise, and the performance is there. Whether it&rsquo;s multi-tasking, or graphic-intensive gaming, the Tab S8+ has more than enough juice for whatever you throw at it, and didn&rsquo;t struggle through any of the reasonable workloads I put it through. This included video calling, document editing, running Samsung&rsquo;s DeX mode and plenty of mobile gaming on the large screen. Speaking of DeX mode, I still think it&rsquo;s the key to unlocking the true power of the Tab S8+, and if you&rsquo;re not using it, well, you&rsquo;re missing out. Now DeX isn&rsquo;t new, and we&rsquo;ve reviewed it on previous Samsung Tab devices before, but if you&rsquo;re moving to a Samsung tablet for the first time, it&rsquo;s still quite a novel feature. DeX mode offers a Windows-like user experience, complete with a desktop and toolbar. I&rsquo;ll discuss more of its features later on the video, but suffice it to say it managed to run all of its functions pretty smoothly thanks to the powerful Snapdragon chip. It's also worth mentioning that while the previous Tab S7+ sported the 5G-capable Snapdragon 865+ chipset, it was only offered with LTE in India, while this new Tab S8+ has 5G-enabled for future high-speed connectivity. All of this performance takes some heavy juice, so it&rsquo;s good that the Tab S8+ features a 10,090mAh battery, like the previous generation. With moderate usage, I averaged over two days of general battery life with the display set to 120hz refresh rate, and even if you&rsquo;re a power user, it should get you over a day&rsquo;s worth of battery life on a full charge.

Apart from a 3.5mm headphone jack that I wish was included on a device this big, the Tab S8+ has everything you&rsquo;ll need. There&rsquo;s a SIM card tray on this 5G model that I have here, that also features an integrated microSD card slot. There&rsquo;s also support for upto 45W fast charging on this tablet, but unfortunately, the Tab S8+ does not get an adapter included in the box. Now this is a shame, considering how large the battery is, and a high-power adapter would be a welcome add-on to such a powerful and expensive device. I will admit, though, that charging it from flat to full with a 25W Samsung adapter I had with me, took under 2 hours, which is impressive for a battery this size. You also get some upgraded optics with this new tab, both on the front and the back. The seflie camera now sports an upgraded 12MP sensor, up from the previous generation's 8MP, and it offers a sharp and clear picture for video calls. The rear cameras on tablets aren't really for taking pictures like you do with a smartphone, but the dual camera setup here offers a capable 13MP primary sensor, and a 6MP secondary sensor for ultrawide shots that offered less detail and more noise compared to the main sensor. Perhaps the best utility on the Tab S8+, however, is its S-Pen stylus, which is still thankfully included in the box. It&rsquo;s gotten significantly upgraded, and now features as little as 2.8ms of latency, compared to nearly 9ms of latency on the previous generation. This means that both note-taking and digital illustration feel like a much more natural experience. Apart from all of this out of the box, you can also purchase a keyboard cover to enhance your productivity experience. Samsung sent us this Book cover keyboard, which is actually the same one that was provided with the Tab S7 series, except this one doesn&rsquo;t get a trackpad. If you&rsquo;re going to use this as a productivity device, and especially with Samsung DeX, then you&rsquo;ll need to invest in a different cover, that comes with an included trackpad, or rely on a Bluetooth mouse. It&rsquo;s worth noting that getting either cover will set you back around 12-14 thousand rupees. &nbsp; Software Now software is one of the most interesting aspects of the Samsung Tab series, because it&rsquo;s what sets it apart from other Android tablets out there. The most significant difference is, of course Samsung DeX, which like I said, offers a Windows-like experience. It can run apps in resize-able, free-form windows and thanks to One UI 4 based on Android 12, there&rsquo;s a few upgrades in that department as well. For instance, DeX can now pin apps to always be visible on screen, and remember the sizing and position of apps pulled out of the side-bar. One UI 4 also brings mouse shortcuts for the Tab S series, that allow you to drag the pointer to any corner of the screen to trigger a customisable shortcut. Overall, I think Samsung has made a fair number of improvements to both One UI and DeX, and despite DeX not being able to run every app out there, it&rsquo;s miles ahead of any other tablet out there in terms of providing a work-focused user experience. &nbsp; Pricing &amp; Verdict Now look, I&rsquo;m not going to pretend like the Tab S8+ is a revolutionary new device, in fact it&rsquo;s similar to the previous Tab S7+ in more ways than it&rsquo;s different, but I don&rsquo;t think that&rsquo;s necessarily a bad thing. The last generation was already a very competent portable powerhouse, and thanks a beefier chipset, faster S-Pen and other little touches here and there, I think Samsung has a real winner on their hands. I&rsquo;ll admit, it&rsquo;s not exactly affordable, with this particular 5G model starting at nearly 88 thousand rupees, but if you&rsquo;re looking for the ultimate Android tablet experience and don&rsquo;t have your heart set on the Tab S8 Ultra, then this Tab S8+ is definitely the one to get.

OnePlus unveiled multiple products at the Cloud 11 event&nbsp;

OnePlus just held its first event of the year, revealing the new OnePlus 11 5G, 11R 5G, and its first tablet, the OnePlus Pad. Additionally, the company revealed three more products: the Buds Pro 2 earbuds, the Keyboard 81 Pro, and the TV 65 Q2 Pro.
The Buds Pro 2 features a dual-driver system, 48db noise cancellation, quick charging, Google Spatial audio, and multi-device pairing. They are available in three colours and two models The standard Buds Pro 2 costs ₹11,999 and the Pro 2R variant without Spatial Audio and wireless charging retails for ₹9,999. Pre-booking starts February 14.
The Keyboard 81 Pro made its debut in the mechanical keyboard market, features an aluminum frame and RGB lights. It's compatible with both Mac and Windows. No pricing details were announced at the event, but it will be available in April.
The 65&rsquo;&rsquo; Q2 Pro is the new flagship TV from OnePlus with a 4K display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1200 nits of brightness with 120 local dimming zones. The 70W 2.1 channel soundbar offers superior audio. It supports WiFi and Bluetooth and is made in India for easy integration with other OnePlus devices. Pre-orders begin March 6th and the TV is available for sale starting March 10th for ₹99,999.

The Galaxy Tab A8 promises to offer an improved e-learning and work-from-home experience thanks to its large display and big battery.

Ever since early 2020, e-learning and work-from-home have become quite popular, and along with them, devices that help in both situations have also seen a spike in buyers. Keeping that in mind, this is our review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 tablet, which helps with both e-learning and work-from-home, but also works quite well as a digital entertainment device.
Display and Design
One of the most important aspects of a tablet are the screen and how it feels to use on a daily basis, so that's where we'll begin.
The Galaxy Tab A8 sports a 10.5-inch TFT display, with a 1920x1200 resolution. The bezels are quite slim, and the front facing camera is placed on the long end, to make video calling a better experience when used in landscape mode. The colours do look a bit washed out compared to Samsung's excellent AMOLED panels that we're more used to seeing, but for the most part, the Tab A8 offers a good content watching experience thanks to Widevine L1 certification for Netflix. Being an LCD panel, the viewing angles aren't great, but if you're looking at the screen head on, which you will most of the time, it shouldn't be a problem.
Design-wise, the Galaxy Tab A8 is pretty lightweight at 508g, and measures less than 7mm in thickness, making it quite a portable package. Even when using for extended periods of time, we didn't feel our hands getting particularly tired holding the Tab A8, which is good.
Now despite the thin form factor, Samsung has managed to find place for a headphone jack, something we're quite glad to see in 2022. Next to that headphone jack you'll see two sets of speaker grills which are also replicated on the other end, giving the Tab A8 a quad-speaker array. The speakers also get Dolby Atmos surround sound, which is impressive for a tablet at this price point. Audio separation from them was quite good, and the speakers get very loud at max volume.
Visually, the Tab A8 sports a simple and classic design. We have the silver colour variant which adds to that classic look, and the metal back feels nice to hold.
Performance
When it comes to performance, the Galaxy Tab A8 comes equipped with the Unisoc T610 octa-core chipset with 3GB RAM on board. Now Samsung does sell a 4GB RAM model as well, but we have the 3GB RAM variant with me, and it handled day-to-day tasks just fine, with very little stutters or lag during our usage.

Now, this chip isn't the best when it comes to graphic-intensive gaming, but to be fair, that's not what this device is really built to do.
3GB RAM is also just about enough, and we did notice that apps running in the background would frequently be required to reload content when re-opened after a while. If you're someone that likes multi-tasking with a lot of apps, you might need to opt for the 4GB RAM model.
Cameras
Now cameras on tablets aren't really meant for shooting high-resolution landscapes or detailed macro-shots. They're mostly used for two things--video calling and document scanning.
The front camera on the Tab A8 is a 5MP unit and and the one on the back is an 8MP unit, and in both cases, we wish they were a bit higher resolution. They'll do the job just fine, but for a device that's going to be used in a lot of video calling and scanning scenarios, a higher pixel count would have been appreciated.
Utility
We've already mentioned a few of the utilities of the Tab A8, like its quad speaker array and 3.5mm audio jack, but apart from this, it also gets Bluetooth v5.0 for connectivity, support for USB 2.0 and USB OTG, so you can connect portable hard-drives or pen-drives to the Tab A8.
There's no NFC, but this particular model of the Tab A8 does come with a nano-SIM card slot, which supports 4G LTE. Moreover, the SIM-tray also has space for up to a 1TB microSD card, which is handy, since the 3GB RAM model comes only with 32GB of storage.
Software
On the software front, the Tab A8 gets Android 11, with One UI Core 3.1, which is an upgrade over the previous model. It also gets Samsung Knox security which is a good addition.
In terms of pre-loaded apps, there are quite a few here, including a couple for e-learning.
One UI has always offered a pretty good user experience, and it'll be interesting to see if Samsung ever brings its DeX OS to the Tab A series as well.

Battery
Battery life is a strong point of the Tab A8, since it comes with a 7,040mAh unit. This is more than enough to get you through a couple of days of heavy usage, and offers excellent standby time as well.
However, Samsung doesn't include a fast charging adaptor in the box, so it takes quite a while to charge back up to full.
Still, whether it's long sessions of e-learning or video calling, there's enough juice to get everything done without breaking a sweat.
Verdict
Overall, for ₹21,999, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 offers good value for money. You have multiple RAM and connectivity configurations to choose from depending on your budget, and all of them get a large screen and massive battery--making it a solid productivity companion.

OnePlus has confirmed that they will be launching their first-ever tablet, the OnePlus Pad, at the upcoming Cloud 11 event on February 7th. The company has added a dedicated section for the tablet on its official website but there is little information available about the device.
In addition to the OnePlus Pad, OnePlus will also launch several other products during the Cloud 11 event. These include the OnePlus 11 5G, OnePlus 11R 5G, OnePlus Buds Pro 2, OnePlus Keyboard, and a 65-inch TV.

The tablet market in India is expected to grow by 10-15 percent in 2022.

CyberMedia Research (CMR) <a href="https://cmrindia.com/5g-tablet-shipments-in-india-grew-61-qoq-in-q3-2022-cmr/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">reports</a> that the market for tablet PCs in India grew by 22 percent between July and September this year. This was due to a rise in demand for 5G-capable devices.
CMR thinks that the number of tablet PCs shipped will grow by 10-15 percent in 2022.
In Q3 2022, the number of 5G tablets shipped kept going up. This is because of the recent auctions for 5G technology and the start of the 5G era. According to CMR, the growth of 5G tablets is similar to what has been happening in the market for 5G smartphones.
During the quarter, Samsung led the market with a 28 percent market share. Lenovo and Apple came in second and third, with 26 and 19 percent market shares, respectively.
In the Indian market, shipments of tablets with an 8-inch screen made up 43 percent of all shipments.
Samsung's Tab A8 (4G and WiFi) and Tab A7 Lite (4G and WiFi) each had 25 percent of the market.
The report said that Samsung's shipments grew by 83 percent from the second to the third quarter of 2022.
Lenovo was ranked second in the whole region. Its commercial business and retail market helped it get there.
Apple iPad 9 (Wi-Fi) and Apple iPad Air 2022 (Wi-Fi) had 57 percent and 15 percent of the tablet market, respectively. Apple iPad Pro 2021 (Wi-Fi) and Apple iPad Air 2022 (Wi-Fi) came in second and third, with 8 percent and 6 percent of the market, respectively.
The report said that Apple iPad sales grew by 26 percent from one quarter to the next in the third quarter of 2022.

The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro (2nd Gen) is built to be a productivity powerhouse, and it aims to be a great content watching device too. Does it perform well enough to dethrone tablets from more seasoned players? Find out in our review on editorji.

This is the Tab P11 Pro, a new Android tablet from Lenovo that's focused on work, but does very well with play. It comes with an optional keyboard attachment and stylus, which makes this into a productivity powerhouse. It's priced pretty reasonably too, but does it perform well enough to ward off competition from more seasoned players in the tablet market?
Before I answer that question, make sure you hit that like button, and do remember to subscribe to our channel to not miss out on the latest in tech.
<h2>Design</h2>
The first thing you&rsquo;ll notice is that this is a pretty thin tablet. At just 6.8mm of thickness, it looks and feels really sleek. Although it does sport an 11.2-inch display, the overall footprint is quite portable, it&rsquo;s around the size of a hardcover book, and it should fit in most bags very easily. The bezels on said display are not the most slim but they are uniform, and give the tablet quite a polished look.
On the back, the dual-tone grey finish looks extremely professional and classy. On the top, you get the power button and the microSD card slot, while the volume buttons are on the right. On the left you get pogo pin connectors, and on the bottom you&rsquo;ll find the USB-C port, while both the bottom and top house speaker cutouts.
<h2>Utility</h2>
So, the optional keyboard cover that you can buy connects to the back cover using a magnetic pogo pin. After which, you can prop up the tablet using the kickstand, and basically use it like a laptop.
The keyboard is really easy to type on, there's adequate spacing between the keys, and the chick-lit design has enough key travel - as much as a MacBook Air. It didn't take me much time to get used to it and get up to my standard typing speed of around 110 WPM - the script for this review was also written on this keyboard. One small nitpick I have is that the delete key is placed right above the backspace key, which can be confusing sometimes if you miss one and hit the other.
Lenovo's 'Productivity Mode', however, leaves something to be desired. When you dock the tab with the keyboard, it automatically turns the productivity mode on, which means you get a desktop-like user interface with a taskbar, active multi-tasking between multiple apps, and the ability to drag apps around like windows. Software compatibility with this mode is still a work in progress - many apps don't support fullscreen in this mode, and I found myself switching back to just regular Android a lot to make things easier.

The trackpad is also quite precise, and will feel right at home to people used to Windows or Mac laptops. It doesn't have the biggest surface area, but that comes with the form factor. In regular Android mode, where every app is fullscreen, you do get support for trackpad gestures to switch between apps and all, which does make the interface easy to use. It does need better palm rejection though.
Now we come to the stylus, or the Precision Pen 3, as Lenovo calls it. The stylus is quite comfortable to hold, pretty light, and comes with a soft-touch nib and a programmable button. The writing experience with this is... not very precise. There's a considerable amount of lag when using the pen, which will be very noticeable to artists or even compulsive note-takers who are used to pens with less latency. If you can get over that issue, the stylus is reasonably good to write and draw with, and I used it to make notes just fine. You also get a suite of preloaded apps that use the stylus, like this writing calculator from Microsoft, and a host of stylus-based productivity tools that you can access from this floating bubble.
When you're not using the stylus, it can snap to the back of the tablet using magnets, and there's a slot for it in the back cover too.
One thing I do miss is the lack of any sort of fingerprint unlock here, neither in the display nor on the power button. Your only options for unlocking are just entering a PIN or pattern on the display, or face unlock which works moderately well. It can recognise your face pretty fast sometimes, but it does struggle in some instances.
As far as wireless connectivity goes, you get Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. There&rsquo;s no cellular option, which some people will miss, but you can always just hotspot with your phone. The USB-C port has USB 3.2 support for fast data transfer and power delivery 2.0 for charging, and it can also support external displays through DisplayPort 1.4.
<h2>Display + Audio</h2>
The display is a particular highlight here. This is an 11.2-inch AMOLED display that sports a 2K resolution, which makes this great for both watching content and reading. The 5:3 ratio of the display also means it's very usable both in portrait mode for reading, or in landscape mode for watching widescreen movies, or indeed in laptop mode for typing out a work document. The screen gets reasonably bright for indoor use at 600 nits, but may not be ideal to use in harsh sunlight conditions. It also does have support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, which means that you'll get great colours and HDR on supported video content apps, like Netflix.
The speakers are this tablet's biggest strength. This unit has a quad speaker setup, which is provided by JBL, and it shows. They can get really loud while still retaining clarity, have pretty good bass representation, which makes listening to music on this a treat. The presence of Dolby Atmos, which makes the speakers project a pretty wide soundstage, makes this an excellent device for watching movies and TV shows. And, although I know that it's pretty common these days, and Lenovo are hardly the only ones doing it, but it still feels a little weird to not get a headphone jack on a tablet - like, there's enough space here guys, come on.

<h2>Performance</h2>
This tablet is powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 1300T chipset, which is similar in performance to the Dimensity 1200 SoC that we've seen in many smartphones over the last year. General performance, for things like social media apps or even working with documents and spreadsheets and stuff, is very snappy. There's also 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, which is a lot, and makes real multitasking possible. Using the aforementioned productivity mode, it's very possible to keep multiple apps open, and switch between them actively. I had Chrome, a writing app, and Spotify open all at the same time, and switched between them frequently. Overall, the tablet offers a great productivity experience, and you could easily use this as a mobile workstation.
It's also a pretty decent tablet for gaming. While the chipset is not the fastest out there, it's pretty adequate even for most modern demanding games. On Call of Duty Mobile, for example, you can get Max frame rate on the Very High graphics quality setting. Given the form factor, I would recommend pairing a controller with the tablet when possible for serious gaming.
If your use case for this tablet is more of a media centre, then you'll be happy to know that it comes with 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, which is both fast and very adequate for storing a large amount of movies, books, and music. If you have the world's biggest media library and even that's not enough for you, it also comes with a microSD card slot, which will accept cards up to 1TB. That should be enough for just about anybody.
<h2>Cameras</h2>
On the Tab P11 Pro, you get an 8MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera. Now cameras aren't really the most important thing on a tablet, you'll be using the rear camera mostly for scanning documents and stuff, but it does capture an acceptable level of quality in images, giving adequate lighting of course.
The front camera, which you're going to use a lot more, is thoughtfully placed in landscape mode, which is ideal for video calls and meetings. As such, quality is acceptable again, and the dual microphone array makes for a good video call experience.

<h2>Battery</h2>
The Tab P11 Pro comes with an 8,000mAh battery, which is pretty big, and Lenovo promises around 9 hours of web browsing time. In my experience, you can hit that screen time, but only if you're doing something very basic like playing back video or only typing out a document. Any sort of heavy multitasking usage and you're looking more at around 6 hours of screen-on time.
I did experience a bug where Android System would eat up battery all the time, leading to very intense idle battery drain. Hopefully this is the sort of thing that will easily be fixed with an update.
Charging is one area where I would have liked to see Lenovo do better. With the bundled charger, and I guess in 2022 you have to be thankful you at least get a bundled charger, you can charge up the tablet from 0 to 100 in around 2 hours and 15 minutes. This is only if the tablet is left idle, though - if you're using the tablet while charging that time is going to shoot up. With a battery this size, faster charging speeds would have really helped increase the portability and usability factors.
<h2>Verdict</h2>
The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro is a versatile tablet that is an excellent choice for both work and play. Its keyboard and pen attachments make it a fantastic portable productivity machine, and the excellent display and speakers make for an amazing content watching device too. For a price of Rs. xx for the tablet, and Rs xx with this pen and keyboard bundle, this is a great value for money tablet that does a lot of the things much more expensive tablets do, at a cheaper price.
