With the festive spirit in full swing, Ahmedabad residents are indulging in a unique and extravagant sweet treat this Diwali season &ndash; the 'Swarna Mudra'. This delectable delight is adorned with a lavish 24-carat gold layer.
Sold at the Gwalia SBR outlet in Ahmedabad, the Swarna Mudra sweet is not your ordinary dessert. Priced at a whopping ₹1,400 per piece and ₹21,000 per kilogram, this golden confectionery has caught the eye of many sweet enthusiasts. Each kilogram of Swarna Mudra consists of approximately 15 pieces, making it an exquisite and exclusive choice for those looking to add a touch of luxury to their Diwali celebrations.
This opulent sweet is crafted with a blend of high-quality ingredients, including blueberries, almonds, pistachios, and cranberries, creating a medley of flavours and textures. According to Raveena Tilwani, a representative from the store, the Swarna Mudra sweets have been specifically introduced this year and are receiving an overwhelming response from customers. The store is taking orders for these luxurious sweets and is ensuring that the demand is met with meticulous preparation.
Interestingly, Ahmedabad is not the only city witnessing such extravagant sweets. Just a few days ago, Lucknow made headlines for its 'Exotica' sweet, which is garnished with 24-carat gold. Sold at Chhappan Bhog in Lucknow, this unique mithai has been captivating taste buds since 2009. The demand for this exquisite delight has only soared over the years, with customers flocking to purchase the ₹500 per piece sweet, often opting for larger boxes costing up to ₹50,000.

For Indians, Holi is all about good food and family gatherings. And when we talk about Holi food, gujiya is inevitable. But this time rather than basic gujiya try out baked mewa gujiya made with thandai spices, shared by Chef Kunal Kapoor.&nbsp;
<h3>Recipe for baked mewa gujiya</h3>
First of all, mix ghee and powdered sugar in refined wheat flour and knead a tight dough by adding cold water.
<h3>Recipe for thandai masala</h3>
To make the masala of thandai, lightly roast almonds, cashews and pistachios in a pan. After this add black pepper, cinnamon, fennel, cardamom, a little nutmeg, dried melon seeds, dry rose petals and poppy seeds and fry them, but do not let them turn brown. Put all of these ingredients in a mixer grinder and grind them by adding saffron on top.
<h3>How to make the gujiya filling</h3>
To make the filling, roast semolina (suji) in a pan on a low flame and take it out separately. Then fry grated coconut in the same pan, then add khoya and fry it. Remove the pan from the stove, add thandai masala and powdered sugar and mix them well. Now add roasted semolina to this mixture and mix well.
Now, roll the dough into a round shape. Fill it with masala filling and give it the shape of Gujiya and bake it in an oven. Thandai Baked Gujiya is ready, now serve it hot and enjoy.
