Subhash Ghai has reportedly confirmed &lsquo;Aitraaz 2&rsquo;, the sequel of romantic thrilller starring Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The exciting update comes as &lsquo;Aitraaz&rsquo; completed 20 years.
Filmmaker Subhash Ghai has confirmed to Hindustan Times that &lsquo;Aitraaz 2&rsquo; is in the works. The sequel is being written by &lsquo;OMG 2&rsquo; director Amit Rai and Ghai is reportedly in talks with different studios to produce the film. Sharing the update, Ghai told Hindustan Times that Amit has a big hit script with him at the moment and he really loved it.
While the filmmaker did not reveal much about the subject or plot of the sequel, Ghai said that Amit Rai has written another bold issue. He further hinted that the film will be more than just a social drama. The cast is yet to be finalised for the exciting project and Ghai promises that the sequel will be better than &lsquo;Aitraaz&rsquo;. &nbsp;
The 2004 film, directed by Abbas-Mastan, captivated the audience with its bold subject. The film dealt with the issue of workplace sexual harassment. &lsquo;Aitraaz&rsquo; is also remembered as a film that gave a big boost to Priyanka Chopra&rsquo;s career despite playing a negative character. &nbsp;

Bollywood director Subhash Ghai feels 'blessed' as the theme music from his 1999 film &lsquo;Taal,&rsquo; composed by the renowned AR Rahman, was used by the USA's women's artistic swimming team for their underwater choreography at the World Aquatics Doha 2024. The performance video has been widely shared on social media.
Subhash Ghai shared a screenshot of the performance on X (formerly Twitter), writing, &lsquo;RARELY IT HAPPENS WHEN A HINDI FILM THEME MUSIC LIKE &lsquo;TAAL&rsquo; BECOMES ICONIC (clapping hands emoji) (sic).&rsquo;
He continued, &lsquo;It was seen at World Aquatics DOHA 2024 which inspired the USA ARTISTIC SWIMMING TEAM to display their unique performance on the music of TAAL. I feel blessed... thank you all (heart and hug emoji) (sic).&rsquo;
As social media users discovered the month-old video, they enthusiastically praised AR Rahman&rsquo;s music. One user commented, &lsquo;Taal Se Taal is perfect for any cultural event&mdash;AR truly represents Indian music (sic).&rsquo; Another said, &lsquo;So cool! (sic).&rsquo; An X user added, &lsquo;This is a proud moment for all Indians&mdash;Indian music rocks (sic).&rsquo;

The 1999 film &lsquo;Taal&rsquo; starred Aishwarya Rai, Akshaye Khanna, and Anil Kapoor, with notable performances by Alok Nath, Mita Vashisht, and Amrish Puri. The film was a success upon its release and received several awards.

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai celebrated his 78th birthday on January 23 at his house in Bandra, Mumbai. His party was a star-studded event as it was attended by celebrities who have collaborated with him. Salman Khan arrived at the venue in his Dabangg style and posed for the cameras. He then joined Subhash Ghai and his family for the cake-cutting celebration.
Shatrughan Sinha, Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor and Ghai's 'Pardes' actor Mahima Chaudhry were also part of the bash.

UP CM meets Bollywood biggies, finalises film city plans

UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday held a meeting with representatives of Bollywood fraternity over building a Film City in the state. 1000 acres of land has also been identified for the project. The conference was attended by industry heavyweights such as producer director Madhur Bhandarkar, Subhash Ghai, superstar Rajnikanth&rsquo;s daughter Saundarya, Paresh Rawal, Priyadarshan, Raveena Tandon among others in the CM&rsquo;s official residence in Lucknow. The CM had,while addressing a review meeting, announced the setting up of the biggest and most beautiful film city of the country in Gautam Buddh Nagar, an official said. Yogi had asked officials to find a suitable land in or around Noida for setting up the film city. The move to build a movie metropolis was welcomed by the industry. Kangana Ranaut and singer Anup Jalota have already lauded the UP CM for his announcement on film city.
