On the 125th&nbsp;birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose,&nbsp;Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a hologram of the statue of the freedom fighter at India Gate. The hologram would soon be replaced by a granite statue. It is located under a cupola which once housed a statue of British monarch King George V. The hologram measures 28 feet by 6 feet and is reportedly powered by a 30,000 lumens 4k projector. The light is projected onto a high gain, 90% transparent holographic screen which is not visible to spectators. Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said that there had been an attempt in the past to erase the contributions of many freedom fighters from history books. He said that this mistake is being rectified now. He named Bhimrao Ambedkar, Vallabhbhai Patel, and Birsa Munda among those being given due credit by the current government.

 Observing Bose's birth anniversary as Parakram Divas, the Prime Minister also handed out the 'Subhas Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar'. It aims to recognise major contributions in the field of disaster management. The award was conferred for the years 2019 to 2022.
