 Karan Johar said, ‘I called up Karan a week ahead of the Student of the Year shooting, asking when the shoot begins, he told me they are not shooting on schedule. So, that was the biggest bummer. I could not take up that offer and even they (Karan's film) did not happen on time.’

Actor Ronit Roy revealed that he had to reject an offer to work in the Hollywood film &lsquo;Zero Dark Thirty&rsquo; as Karan Johar's team refused to shift dates for &lsquo;Student of the Year&rsquo;.
He recently appeared on &lsquo;The Kapil Sharma Show&rsquo; along with team &lsquo;Shehzada&rsquo; where Kapil first revealed that Ronit was offered a role in &lsquo;Zero Dark Thirty&rsquo;, but he refused so as to complete &lsquo;Student of the Year&rsquo;.
To this Ronit replied, &lsquo;Yes, I was selected for the film Zero Dark Thirty, without any auditions. They told me the director Kathryn Bigelow had seen my work and wanted to cast me. I was shocked that an Oscar-winning director has selected me for her film.&rsquo;
He further added, &lsquo;But then, their films are scheduled and Karan Johar had all my dates. I asked them to shift dates, as this was a lifetime opportunity for me &ndash; to work with an Oscar-winning director in a Hollywood film. But they refused, not Karan, but they (people working with him) refused to release me, denied to cancel my dates for Student of the Year. So I had to do refuse. And, then when I called up Karan a week ahead of the Student of the Year shooting, asking when the shoot begins, he told me they are not shooting on schedule. So, that was the biggest bummer. I could not take up that offer and even they (Karan's film) did not happen on time.&rsquo;

Actor Alia Bhatt completed a decade in Bollywood on Wednesday. The actor made her acting debut with Karan Johar&rsquo;s &lsquo;Student Of The Year&rsquo;, co-starring Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. On her special day, veteran actor-Alia&rsquo;s mom Soni Razdan took to Instagram and recalled how Alia bagged her first film. She also revealed that Alia had planned to join a drama school. &nbsp;
&lsquo;Student of the Year came from Out of nowhere for our baby @aliaabhatt and when we least expected it! At the time Alia was busy working on her International Baccalaureate- a diploma I&rsquo;m so glad she could do-and acting in a movie was a distant dream &hellip; one which we were not at all prepared for &hellip; just yet, she wrote. She further added, &lsquo;the plan was for Alia to go to a drama school and then somehow try to get a role in something! Thank you @karanjoharfor auditioning her, and giving her a chance to work on herself before finally casting our girl. So happy she got the opportunity to do this film, and have you as her mentor, guide, best friend and yes - a second father.&rsquo; &nbsp;
