Aryan was arrested and charged with procuring, possession and distribution of drugs. After 26 days in custody, Aryan Khan was released on bail. There was a massive outpouring of support from Bollywood even as the 23-year-old star kid became the victim of a massive media trial, with the whole nation being tuned into day-by-day updates in the case.
The NCB extended his probe to several other celebs in Bollywood and daughter of Chunky Panday, actor Ananya Panday, was also grilled in connection with Aryan's case. While Ananya was not a suspect, her laptop and phone was seized, and her home in Bandra was also raided by NCB sleuths.

Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman, made headlines for all the wrong reasons when he was arrested in July by the Mumbai police on charges of making and distributing adult videos via a mobile app. The case unravelled when several smaller actresses&nbsp;including Poonam Pandey, Sherlyn Chopra, made serious claims against Kundra. Kundra was granted bail in September, and his actress wife Shilpa Shetty denied any link whatsoever to the case, but the case sent tongues wagging in Bollywood.&nbsp;

Sonu Sood had emerged as a messiah during the Covid-induced lockdown with his outreach to help the poor and the needy, but fans were shocked when Income Tax department officials suddenly raided the actor's house and offices in September. The I-T sleuths said the raids were in connection with alleged tax evasion, but the actor refuted all claims. Many said, Sonu Sood was a political target, because of his links with a certain party.

When the Enforcement Directorate unearthed a Rs 200 crore money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar, they cast their net wider after Sukesh in his interrogation named Bollywood A-listers who he had showered with expensive gifts.The ED questioned actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi as they were alleged beneficiaries of laundered money. Selfies of Jacqueline with Sukesh went viral on social media and that added more fuel to fire. But the most fascinating details of the case emerged as people got to know what gifts these Bollywood heroines received. A shocked Joydeep told the Tribune that Konica was missing her sessions for a few days due to one reason or the other. He though disclosed that the shooter failed to qualify for the Nationals this time after she was disqualified for target manipulation at a championship. However, Joydeep added that Konica got over the shock and disappointment and was training well after it.

South star Thalapathy Vijay's post revealing the first look of his next movie "Beast" was the most re-tweeted and liked tweet from the Indian cinema for the year 2021, Twitter said on Thursday.
Vijay, who had scored a blockbuster with "Master" earlier this year, had posted about the new film in June this year. The post received over 3.42 lakh likes and saw over 10 thousand retweets.
Five films from the South were the most talked about movies from the entertainment world, including Vijay's "Master" and "Beast", which were at number one and three spots.
Ajith Kumar-starrer "Valimai" was at number two, while Suriya's critically-acclaimed movie "Jai Bhim" was number four.  Pawan Kalyan's "Vakeel Saab", the Telugu remake of Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan-starrer "Pink", took the fifth spot.
From Bollywood, actor Sonu Sood was the most talked about celebrity, owing to various efforts to help people during the coronavirus pandemic. He was followed by superstars Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.
Akshay had two films released in theatres this year with "Bell Bottom" and "Sooryavanshi". Salman Khan featured in "Radhe" and "Antim" with his brother-in-law Ayush Sharma.
Shah Rukh Khan was in conversation owing to the controversy around the arrest of his son Aryan Khan by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Aryan Khan was released on bail on October 30.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan took the fifth spot as he continued to amuse fans with his witty takes and tweets that inspired conversations across the year.
Alia Bhatt was the most talked about female star from Bollywood, owing to excitement about her upcoming projects -- "RRR", "Brahmastra" and "Gangubai Kathiawadi".
She was followed by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Disha Patani, Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma.

Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood on Sunday said his sister Malvika is joining politics, but added he has no such plans for himself.
Malvika later said she will contest the 2022 Punjab Assembly polls from Moga.
Sood, who is from Moga district, said his sister has done a lot of amazing work in the past.
"We today officially want to say that Malvika will certainly come to serve Punjab," the actor said, addressing the media at his residence in the district.
Asked about joining any political party, Sood said no decision has yet been taken in this regard.
"We have not yet taken a call about the party. Whenever the time comes, we will make sure that we let you know," he said.
When asked whether he would enter politics, Sood said he has not thought about it.
"It is a very big decision in life. I think Malvika is strongly rooted in Moga… For me (joining politics), I have not thought of it," he said.
Asked about his recent meetings with Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal, Sood said both of them are good people.
On SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, Sood said he would meet him too, adding that Badal has vast experience in politics.
About the ongoing farmers' protest, the actor said it was necessary that the farmers get their rights, asserting that their issues should be resolved so that they can return to their fields.
"What we are eating is because of them. It is important they should be happy," he said.
He also emphasized on improving the healthcare system in the state.
"There are several dispensaries in villages in Punjab where nobody is there (for patients). Sometimes in government hospitals, doctors and medicines were not available. These things should be set right," Sood said.
To a question on income tax raids on his premises in September, he said he had faced many difficulties in the past but he continued his fight for the people.
Replying to another query, Sood said unemployment was the biggest issue in Punjab.
"The biggest problem of Punjab is unemployment, and when people do not get jobs, they take to drugs. We are already working on it," he said.
He stressed that the IT industry should be promoted in the state in a big way for generating employment opportunities.
Sood also announced a dialysis service for needy patients free of charge.
Later talking to reporters, Malvika said she had been working towards addressing issues related to healthcare and education.
The Punjab assembly polls are due early next year.

He added, that every rupee that is sent to the Sonu Sood Foundation is used to save a precious life or reach the needy. He went on to say that he has also encouraged brands to donate his endorsement fees for humanitarian causes.
After visiting his Mumbai home for three days in a row, Income Tax officials on Sunday said that Sood has evaded taxes of over ₹20 crore. The tax department also said Sood's non-profit raised ₹2.1 crore from overseas donors using a crowdfunding platform which is in violation of the law.
The I-T depart said, there have been instances where Sood's professional receipts have been camouflaged as loans in the books of accounts for the purpose of evasion of tax, adding that these bogus loans have been used for making investments and acquiring properties. 
The ruling Shiv Sena in Maharashtra and the Aam Aadmi Party have questioned the timing of the searches at Sonu Sood's home. The BJP has said there is no link between Sood's tie-up with AAP and the searches.

Actor Sonu Sood will be the brand ambassador of the AAP government's 'Desh ka mentors' programme under which students will be guided in making their career choices, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday.
