Sharmila Tagore shared her thoughts on Kareena Kapoor-starrer 'Crew,' describing its storyline as 'absurd' yet applauding the strong bond among its female leads. Directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, the film hit theaters on March 29, featuring Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon as air hostesses.
<h2>Sharmila's thoughts on 'Crew'</h2>
During a recent conversation on the YouTube channel 'Dil Se Kapil Sibal,' Sharmila Tagore, acknowledged the film's narrative but emphasised the exceptional camaraderie depicted among the three protagonists. "It is absurd, of course, beyond belief but there are three women pulling off this adventure. One is landing a plane, one is breaking a safe&hellip; doing all kinds of things together and the camaraderie between the three is excellent because they say a woman is a woman&rsquo;s worst enemy, not so here." she noted, highlighting the camaraderie.
Kareena Kapoor, echoing Tagore's sentiments, celebrated 'Crew' not only for its entertainment value but also for its commercial success. She expressed optimism about the film's impact on encouraging more women-centric stories in Bollywood. "Crew has done very well. Three women are doing all kinds of fantastic things and it has done extremely well at the box office. That will encourage a lot of filmmakers to do women-centric films," Kareena said.

Veteran actor Sharmila Tagore, who appeared on &lsquo;Koffee With Karan&rsquo; Season 8 with her son-actor Saif Ali Khan, shared she was diagnosed with cancer, but chose to refrain from sharing more details about it.
On the show, Karan revealed that Sharmila was initially offered the role of Alia Bhatt&rsquo;s grandmother in &lsquo;Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani&rsquo;. It was during this chat that the veteran star revealed she battled cancer.
&lsquo;I had offered Sharmila ji the part played by Shabana Azmi in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. She was my very first choice. Due to health reasons at that time, she couldn&rsquo;t say yes but it is a regret I have,&rsquo; Karan Johar shared.
Sharmila replied, &lsquo;This is at the height of Covid. They hadn&rsquo;t really grappled with Covid at that time. They didn&rsquo;t know the vaccine&hellip; We were not vaccinated. You know, after my cancer. So, they didn&rsquo;t want me to take that risk.&rsquo;
The character was eventually played by Shabana Azmi.
&lsquo;Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani&rsquo; was predominantly shot during the Covid-19 wave.
At that time, Sharmila who couldn&rsquo;t be a part of the film, met Shabana when she was in Delhi.
Shabana shared a photo with Sharmila on Instagram and wrote, &lsquo;So happy to meet up with #Sharmila Tagore in Delhi.&rsquo;
Sharmila has shifted base to New Delhi and is living at the Pataudi Palace.

Veteran actor Sharmila Tagore made headlines when she slipped into a bikini for a scene in &lsquo;An Evening in Paris&rsquo;. She was one of the first A-list stars to take the bold step and the public, including the industry, was quite surprised. There were also questions asked in Parliament at that time.
Speaking about the infamous scene on &lsquo;Koffee With Karan&rsquo; Season 8, Sharmila said she was &lsquo;upset&rsquo; with the way it was interpreted. She also revealed she got an earful from director Shakti Samanta, who helmed &lsquo;Aradhana&rsquo;.
When she sent a Telegram to Tiger and told him about the incident, he said that he was sure she was looking very nice and that was her support.
&lsquo;The photographer was slightly worried. I just thought I looked very nice. What really hurt me later because everybody interpreted it in such a way that I was upwardly mobile, I was trying to catch eyeballs. I didn&rsquo;t feel like that,&rsquo; Sharmila told Karan Johar.
&lsquo;When it came out in Filmfare, I was in London so I was unaware until Shakti Samanth called me and said, &lsquo;Will you come back quickly? There are terrible things happening here&rsquo; He gave me a dressing down and said, &lsquo;If you want to be in the public eye, this is not the way to go.&rsquo; I used to live alone and I was very upset with all this completely opposite of what I thought would happen. So I sent a Telegram to Tiger and Tiger said, &lsquo;I&rsquo;m sure you are looking very nice&rsquo; and that was my support,&rsquo; she added.
&lsquo;Questions were asked in Parliament. It was not pleasant for me. But learning I did. After that I chose Aaradhna. It was RRR of our time,&rsquo; Sharmila said.
Saif shared he was proud that his mother broke barriers and pulled off the scene in the movie. &lsquo;People in boarding school used to tell me, &lsquo;Is that your mum?'&rsquo; he said.
Previously, Sharmila discussed the incident at AIMA&rsquo;s 8th National Leadership Conclave, revealing that she instructed her driver to remove the film posters near her house because her mother-in-law was visiting.
&lsquo;I remember there was a poster of the film on the road (near her home), and my mother-in-law was coming to town, so I got my driver to take down that poster in the middle of the night &ndash; not realising that there might be other posters on the way from the airport,&rsquo; she said.

Sharmila Tagore recently discussed the response to her bikini scene in An Evening in Paris (1967). The public, including the film industry, she said, was 'quite surprised.' The veteran actor went on to say that there were questions about it even in Parliament at the time. Sharmila also recalled asking her driver to remove a movie poster near her house in the middle of the night because her mother-in-law was 'coming to town.'
Sharmila stated after the film's release that she realized that 'a glamorous image is all very good,' but if she wants to be taken seriously, she will have to be more than that. She added that Aradhana (1969) arrived at that time, and she began'consciously choosing' her scripts from then on.
The actor further adding about her film An Evening in Paris said, 'When I did An Evening in Paris, my bikini scene was shocking. The general public, as well as the industry, were taken aback. I believe questions were asked in Parliament at the time. Although, in comparison to today's films, it appears very innocent.'
She also said that after Aradhana, she worked on movies like Amar Prem (1972), Avishkar (1974), Mausam (1975), and Namkeen (1982), among others, that spoke to her. She claimed to have transcended glamour and added, 'Glamour is not forever.'
With Gulmohar, Sharmila Tagore recently returned to acting. The movie was directed by Rahul Chittella and debuted on Disney+ Hotstar. It also features Manoj Bajpayee, Suraj Sharma, and other actors.
