In an interview to a leading daily, Shabana said "It is not a routine grandmother’s role. My character is a very sophisticated upper-class woman. Manish Malhotra has designed some exquisite clothes for me."
Actor Jaya Bachchan, meanwhile, will be playing Ranveer's grandmother in the film. Reports say, Jaya will play the role a halwai who enjoys a good laugh at her expense or at the expense of others.
The film's shoot is currently underway in Delhi. Co-produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Motion Pictures, 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani' has been written by Shashank Khaitan, Ishita Moitra and Sumit Roy. The film is slated for a 2023 release.

A court in Mumbai on Tuesday adjourned the hearing in the ongoing defamation case filed by lyricist Javed Akhtar against actor Kangana Ranaut after the 'Thalaivii' star&nbsp;failed to appear before the court.
The court also warned that it will issue an arrest warrant against&nbsp;Kangana, if she&nbsp;failed to appear on the next date. which is scheduled for September 20.&nbsp;&nbsp;Even though Kangana&nbsp;missed the hearing, Javed&nbsp;Akhtar and his actor wife Shabana Azmi were present in court on Tuesday.
Kangana&rsquo;s lawyer&nbsp;Rizwan Siddique told the court, that the actor was busy promoting her film for the past few days and was now showing Covid symptoms, and therefore could not attend the court.

However, Javed&nbsp;Akhtar&rsquo;s lawyer, submitted that Kangana was trying to delay the proceedings.
