The 6-time US Open Champion fought hard, saving five match points but she couldn’t survive the sixth. She eventually lost the match in three sets, 5-7, 7-6, 1-6.

23 times Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams, and 7-time Formula 1 champion, Lewis Hamilton have joined Martin Broughton's bid to buy Premier League club, Chelsea. It is one of the three offers that Roman Abramovich, the club's owner is considering. The other 2 offers are being made by Todd Boehly, the part-owner of LA Dodgers, and Steve Pagliuca the co-owner of Boston Celtics. Williams and Hamilton have reportedly pledged £20 million in the bid for over £200 million. The former Liverpool FC and British Airways chairman, Broughton's bid partners also includes World Athletics President, Sebastian Coe, the owner of the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team, Josh Harris, and David Blitzer. A spokesperson for Hamilton has confirmed the development. The former World no.1 Tennis star is also an invester in the Los Angeles' Angel City FC, the team plays in the National Women's Soccer League.

Serena's wait for a record 24th Grand slam title got longer as unseeded&nbsp;Azarenka&nbsp;upset her in US Open semis.

Gunning for her maiden US Open title, unseeded&nbsp;Victoria Azarenka came from behind to upset 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams and booked a final berth on Friday. It is the first Grand Slam final for the former World number 1 in 7 years. After going down 1-6 in the first set, the 31-year-old bounced back to take the next two 6-3, 6-3. With her first-ever victory over Serena at the US Open,&nbsp;Azarenka&nbsp;took her winning streak to 11 matches. She will now take on Japan's Naomi Osaka in the final showdown on Sunday.
