Actor Akshay Kumar praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he cautioned BJP leaders from making unnecessary comments on movies and actors just to be in the news. PM Modi said, &lsquo;No one should make unnecessary comments that would overshadow the hard work we do&rsquo; amid protests and boycott trends against &lsquo;Pathaan&rsquo;.
During the trailer launch event of his upcoming film &lsquo;Selfiee&rsquo;, Akshay was asked about his views on PM Modi's comments. He said, &lsquo;Positivity is always welcome. And of our Prime Minister is saying something like this. He is India&rsquo;s biggest influencer. If he is saying something and if things change it&rsquo;ll be great for the industry. And why not, things should change, because we go through so much.&rsquo;

Earlier, according to an office bearer, the prime minister, at the BJP National Executive meeting in New Delhi, had told his party workers that they should refrain from making unnecessary statements to grab headlines.

The trailer of Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi&rsquo;s forthcoming film &lsquo;Selfiee&rsquo; has been unveiled. Akshay features as a 'superstar', while Emraan Hashmi, a police officer, is his 'biggest fan'.&nbsp;
he trailer shows how Emraan and his son wish to click a selfie with their 'hero'. He even warns his wife, played by Nushrratt Bharucha, that if she speaks against the actor he&rsquo;ll file for a divorce.
Things take an unexpected turn as the superstar and his fan challenge each other over the former&rsquo;s driving license. Akshay says he will get the license anyhow, but Emraan says he will have to get the document just like a 'common man'.
At the end of the video, Akshay and Emraan are seen in a disco in shimmery outfits as the song &lsquo;Main Khiladi Tu Anari&rsquo; plays in the background. Nushrratt and Diana Penty are also part of the song. The original track is from the 1994 movie of the same name that featured Akshay with Saif Ali Khan.
