The MLAs of JMM-led alliance who were shifted to Hyderabad returned to Ranchi on Sunday evening.

Section 144 of the CrPC was imposed around a 100-meter radius of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly in Ranchi ahead of the floor test on February 5.
The restrictions which were placed at 8 am on Monday will remain in force until 10 pm on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Champai Soren has to prove his majority through a trust vote which is scheduled to begin at 11 am.
The JMM leader assumed the top post after ex-CM Hemant Soren resigned before being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
The MLAs of JMM-led alliance returned to Ranchi from Hyderabad on Sunday evening.
"Our MLAs are united... We have the support of 48 to 50 legislators," minister Alamgir Alam said.
JMM lawmaker Mithilesh Thakur also asserted that the JMM-led coalition will sail through the trust vote.

The Rajasthan government has imposed Section 144 in Alwar and Bharatpur following scattered incidents of violence reportedly sparked by the recent communal violence that erupted in Haryana&rsquo;s Nuh district.&nbsp; &nbsp; While the Alwar administration declared the imposition of Section 144 in 10 areas of the districts till August 10, Bharatpur authority also prohibited the assembly of four or more people at two of its tehsils till the further order.&nbsp; &nbsp; Nine people have also been arrested and two juveniles apprehended in Rajasthan&rsquo;s Bhiwadi for allegedly being part of a mob that vandalised three shops on August 1.&nbsp; &nbsp; A mob attacked two meat and a car repairing shop, all three belonging to the minority community.&nbsp;

Prohibitory orders have been imposed in three areas of Patna following protests by hundreds of aspiring teachers. The protests turned violent in some areas, with the police resorting to lathicharge and the use of water cannons.

However, Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh claimed that 'mild force' was used by the police to control crowd. He also said that the protesters included workers of the Jan Adhikar Party, who were trying to proceed towards the Raj Bhavan--the official residence of the governor.

Police in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar on Tuesday imposed restrictions prohibiting unauthorised protests and warned of action against people not following <a href="https://www.editorji.com/covid-19" target="_blank" >Covid-19</a> protocols like social distancing and wearing face masks in public places.
The police invoked Section 144 till April 30 as a precautionary measure. People will have to follow Covid-19 protocols at public places during the period and they will not be allowed to roam around with sticks, rods or firearms at public places except disabled and blind people.
The order added that nobody will be allowed to hold protests, processions or hunger strikes without permission from the competent authority. 
The police also reiterated the complete ban on celebratory firing at events such as weddings and consumption of liquor at public places during the period.

The Kerala government imposed section 144 till October 31, prohibiting the assembly of more than five people to control virus surge in the state. The order was issued after total confirmed cases crossed 2 lakh on Thursday. &lsquo;Strict restrictions shall be imposed in containment zones and in specific areas where the spread of the disease is apprehended&rsquo;, the order specified. From reporting zero fresh cases in recent months, the state now has the second highest rate of increase in covid-19 cases as of Thursday. The state reported 8,135 fresh cases on Thursday, while the death toll climbed to 771 with 29 more fatalities. The southern state, which has been witnessing a rapid spike in new cases in recent weeks, had crossed the one lakh mark on September 11.

Punjab CM: No cases against farmers protesting agri bills

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Wednesday appealed to farmers not to stop traffic or violate Section 144 in the state over the agriculture bills introduced by the government in the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament. However, he made it clear that no cases would be registered against the protesting farmers as they were fighting for their lives. After submitting a memorandum against the anti-farmer Bills on behalf of the Punjab Congress to the Governor, he said that the FIRs already registered against farmers would be withdrawn. He added that the Centre's legislations would ruin Punjab&rsquo;s agriculture, which was the backbone of its economy. Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Badal has said they would vote against the three agriculture bills listed for Wednesday in the parliament.
