<p>Authorities on Tuesday imposed night curfew for a kilometre stretch along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district to ensure better area domination by BSF troops, according to an official order.</p>
<p>The step was taken in view of the threat of cross-border infiltration and smuggling of weapons through drones in the present foggy weather, it stated.</p>
<p>The order issued by the district magistrate Anuradha Gupta banned the movement of civilians from 9 PM to 6 AM in area up to one kilometer from the International Border (IB) in Samba district.</p>
<p>"No person or group of persons shall move in the area up to one kilometer along the International Border in district Samba from 2100 hrs to 0600 hour during the night," the order stated.</p>

<p>This order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of two months from the date of its issuance, if not withdrawn or /rescinded earlier.</p>

<p>A chilling video of a woman mercilessly beating her nine-month-old baby in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district went viral on social media, thereby prompting police to arrest her.</p>
<p>The netizens demanded police action against the woman for the brutality, officials said.</p>
<p>In the heart-wrenching video, apparently shot by a relative, the woman was purportedly seen thrashing, slapping and also throwing the child on a bed, they said.</p>
<p>Her husband along with Sarpanch of Samba district's Bri Kamila area, Mukhtiyar Singh, who saw the video, immediately approached the police and a case was registered.</p>
<p>Following this, the woman has been arrested, SSP Samba Abhishek Mahajan said, adding the child has been handed over to her husband.</p>
<p>However, the incident is one month old and has been posted on social media and made viral by someone, officials said.</p>

<p>In a major breakthrough, the Border Security Force on Saturday detected an underground tunnel near the international border in Samba district&rsquo;s Bengalad area in Jammu and Kashmir.</p>
<p>It is 25-feet deep and 150-metre long on the Indian side and some sandbags with markings &ndash;&ndash; &lsquo;Shakkergarh&rsquo; and &lsquo;Karachi&rsquo;, both in Pakistan &ndash;&ndash; were also found. The nearest Pakistani post across the border was nearly 400 metres from the tunnel, they added.</p>
<p>The BSF has launched a major search operation to find out other such hidden structures that aid infiltration.</p>
