Last year, Samsung decided to skip the release of the Galaxy S22 FE due to the ongoing chip shortage and high demand for its flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, According to a recent report from The Elec, it looks like the Fan Edition (FE) series will make a comeback in 2023 with the launch of the Galaxy S23 FE around August or September.
The report suggests that Samsung will skip the release of the Galaxy A74 and will focus on the S23 FE. The upcoming FE phone will launch with either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy or the top-performing Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 from 2022.

Reports reveal that the launch date has been postponed from early August to October, and that the device will be released with limited availability. The alleged Galaxy S21 FE is supposed to be an affordable version of the flagship S21 series, launched in January this year.

The Ultra sports a 6.8-inch Edge Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O display, with HDR10+ support and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate that runs at the screens highest resolution as well. The display is also Wacom-compatible, so it can support Samsung's S Pen stylus, but S21 Ultra users will have to purchase the S Pen separately. The S21 Ultra runs on the latest Exynos 2100 chip for the Indian market, and houses either 12GB or 16GB of RAM with up to 512GB of internal storage. There's a quad rear camera setup on the back, with a 108MP wide-angle sensor, a 12MP ultra wide lens, and twin 10MP telephoto units that offer up to 100x Space Zoom. There's a 40MP selfie camera, and a 5,000mAh battery to keep the lights on. Like with the S21 devices, there's Gorilla Glass Victus, IP68 water and dust resistance and no charging adapter in the box. Prices for the S21 Ultra start from ₹1,05,999 for the 256GB model, and the device is up for pre-order from January 15, and goes on sale from January 29.

Both run on the new Exynos 2100 chipset in India and up to 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. While the S21 sports a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120Hz Infinity-O display, the larger S21+ gets a 6.7-inch screen, but both get a 2400x1080 resolution. There's a triple rear camera setup on the back of both devices, that houses a 64MP telephoto sensor, a 12MP ultra wide lens and a 12MP wide-angle sensor, with the telephoto unit offering up to 30x Space Zoom. The front camera is a 10MP sensor, and both devices get Gorilla Glass Victus and an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. The S21 sports a 4,000mAh battery, while the S21+ houses a 4,800mAh battery. It's worth noting these are the first Galaxy S series devices to not get a charging adapter in the box. Pricing starts from ₹69,999 for the S21 for its 128GB model, and the S21+ starts from ₹81,999. Both go up for pre-order from January 15, and go on sale from January 29.
