A quarter of workers polled by PwC anticipate changing employment in the coming year, up from 19% the year before, as per the 2023 Hopes and Fears Global Workforce Survey.
PwC's latest assessment of the global workforce found that 42% of workers plan to ask for wage raises to cover the rising cost of living, up from 35% the year before.
A little over 46% of participants in the Survey, which surveyed 54,000 workers across 46 nations, reported that their households either struggled to make ends meet most of the time or every month.
According to Bhushan Sethi, joint global leader of PwC's people &amp; organisation practise, "with the ongoing economic uncertainty, we see a global workforce that wants more pay and more meaning from their work."
In comparison to 47% the previous year, 38% reported having money left over at the end of the month. Approximately one in five employees hold several jobs, with 69% of those claiming to do so to earn more money.
According to the poll, "purpose, company culture, and inclusion also remain key to employee concerns."
Financially disadvantaged workers are also less prepared to take on future difficulties, such as investing in learning new skills and adjusting to the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI).
More than one-third of the workers surveyed who reported having improved financial situations believed AI would increase their productivity, and a quarter said AI would lead to the creation of new job opportunities.
According to the survey, younger professionals, such as Gen Z and millennials (those born after 1981), anticipate AI will have a favourable impact on their jobs during the next five years.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar on Friday said he was revoking his decision to quit as party chief.
Speaking at a press conference here, Pawar, who had sprung a surprise by announcing his resignation three days ago, said he could not disrespect the sentiments of his colleagues and party workers who insisted that he withdraw his decision.
&ldquo;I cannot disrespect their feelings. I am overwhelmed by the love, trust and faith showered on me. Considering the appeals made by all of you, and honouring the decision of the committee constituted by the party, I am withdrawing my decision to retire,&rdquo; the veteran politician said.
He also stressed that there has to be a "succession plan" for any post or responsibility in an organization.
He will focus on making organizational changes in the party, assigning new responsibilities and creating new leadership, Pawar said.
"I will also work vigorously for the growth of the organisation and take our ideology and goals of the party to the people," he said.

British Prime Minister Liz Truss took office last month with hopes and promises of reinvigorating the British economy and putting it on the path to long-term success.
It didn't go to plan.
Instead, Truss' tenure was scarred by turmoil as her economic policies threatened the country's financial stability, driving the pound to record lows, sparking chaos on bond markets and increasing mortgage costs for millions of people.
Though Truss took office amid a cost-of-living crisis, the war in Ukraine and the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, her decision to announce 105 billion pounds of tax cuts and spending increases without providing details on how she would pay for it unnerved investors, who warned of soaring public debt.
That undermined confidence in the government's ability to pay its bills and raised questions about the economic credentials of a new prime minister who took office after a deeply divisive contest for leadership of the governing Conservative Party.
The disarray surrounding the economic plan weakened Truss's authority as prime minister, and ultimately led to her decision to resign on Thursday.
WHAT HAPPENS NOW? The party says it will select a new leader and prime minister by October 28. Truss will remain prime minister until then.
To avoid the need for a lengthy election campaign that could have left the country without an effective government for weeks, party leaders decided that lawmakers would have greater say in the choice and without weeks of hustings around the country.
Under the expedited process, challengers for the leadership must garner the support of 100 other Conservative lawmakers &mdash; out of a total 357 &mdash; by Monday afternoon. That means a maximum field of three for lawmakers to vote on. The last-placed candidate would then be eliminated and the top two candidates will face an online vote of the party membership.
Legally, the government isn't required to call an election until December 2024, five years after the Conservatives won a landslide victory under the then Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
But opposition parties and some members of the public are demanding an immediate election after the uproar of recent months. Truss was forced out of office after less than two months on the job and she followed Johnson, who resigned after his authority was undermined by a series of scandals.

Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath on Sunday said the party would not stop anyone from quitting and that he would lend his car if any member wants to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Nath's comment came amid the exodus from Congress and four days after eight MLAs of the Grand Old Party from Goa switched allegiance to BJP.
“What are you thinking? Congress will finish? You are saying some people want to join the BJP. Whoever wants to join the BJP can go. We don't want to stop anyone,” the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister told reporters when asked about the exodus from Congress.
“If they (Congress leaders and officer-bearers) want to go …. see their future and their thoughts gel with BJP.....I would lend them my motor (car) to go and join BJP,” the Congress veteran said.
Nath said he didn't believe in placating anyone.
“People in Congress are working with dedication. There is no pressure on them from the party,” said the 75-year-old leader, a former MP and a longtime Gandhi family loyalist.
Nath's close aide Arunoday Choubey, a former MLA from Madhya Pradesh, resigned from the Congress recently.
He alleged BJP leaders were mounting pressure on Choubey against whom several cases were registered.
"Our people are being falsely implicated. Pressure and politics of influence are being played out. With such politics, you cannot buy someone's heart, mind and soul," he added.

After his exit from the party, the 73-year-old politician declared of constituting his own party. 
Meanwhile, addressing the matter, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh called the exit ‘unfortunate’ and the timing ‘awful’.

He also said that self-serving interests were gaining precedence while public and national interests were being ignored. Shergill sent his letter to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi.
"The primary reason being that the ideology and the vision of the current decision makers of the Indian National Congress is no longer in sync with the aspirations of the youth and modern India," Shergill said in his letter.
"Furthermore, it pains me to say that decision-making is no longer for the interest of the public and the country. Rather it is influenced by the self-serving interests of individuals indulging in sychophancy and consistently ignoring on ground reality. This is something I cannot morally accept or continue to work with," he added.
Shergill is a lawyer by profession and was one of the prominent ones among young Congress leaders. He hails from Punjab.
Shergill's resignation comes at a time when Congress has seen several of his promising young leaders leave the party.
Among the prominent Congress leaders who have left the party are Jyotiraditiya Scindia, who is now a Union minister and Jitin Prasada.

Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has resigned, Parliament Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardenaon officially confirmed on Friday, after a week of dramatic developments and massive protests against the government for mishandling the economy that bankrupted the country.
Rajapaksa on Thursday emailed his resignation letter to the Speaker soon after he was allowed by Singapore to enter the city-state on a &ldquo;private visit&rdquo;.
In a brief press statement, the Speaker said that Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will act as President until a new leader is elected.
He urged the public to allow a peaceful environment for all lawmakers to take part in the process which should finish within 7 days. The Sri Lankan Parliament will meet on Saturday.
The Speaker received the resignation letter from Rajapaksa through the Sri Lanka High Commission in Singapore on Thursday night. However, he wanted to make the official announcement after the verification process and legal formalities, his media secretary Indunil Abeywardena had said.
On Saturday, Rajapaksa announced to step down on July 13 after thousands of protesters stormed his official residence, blaming him for the unprecedented economic crisis that has brought the country to its knees.
He, however, fled to the Maldives without resigning from his office. From the Maldives, he went to Singapore on Thursday.
A spokesperson for the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Rajapaksa has been &ldquo;allowed entry into Singapore on a private visit&rdquo;.
He has not asked for asylum and neither has he been granted any asylum, the spokesperson said, adding Singapore generally does not grant requests for asylum.
Rajapaksa was the first person with an army background to be elected as Sri Lanka&rsquo;s President in 2019.
Sri Lanka, a country of 22 million people, is under the grip of an unprecedented economic turmoil, the worst in seven decades, leaving millions struggling to buy food, medicine, fuel and other essentials. In several major cities, including Colombo, hundreds are forced to stand in line for hours to buy fuel, sometimes clashing with police and the military as they wait.

Karnataka Minister K S Eshwarappa, who is facing charges of abetment to suicide in connection with the death of a civil contractor in Udupi, on Thursday announced that he will step down from his position.
Addressing a press meet here, Eshwarappa said, "I have served as the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister in the Karnataka government. I have taken a decision today to resign from my ministerial position." He further said he would tender his resignation letter to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday.
The Minister was booked on Wednesday in connection with the suspected suicide of civil contractor Santosh K Patil, who was found dead in a hotel in Udupi.
The contractor had accused the minister and his close aides of demanding 40 per cent commission for executing a civic work in Hindalga village in Belagavi in 2021 ahead of a village festival.
"I decided to resign because I don't want to put in an uncomfortable situation those who helped me rise to this position, such as seniors in the party, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and our national leaders," Eshwarappa added.
Earlier, Eshwarappa had rejected calls for his resignation over the issue, saying he was not at fault.

Jubilant FoodWorks, the company that holds the franchise of Dominos in India is facing headwinds as the leader credited for the turnaround has delivered his resignation to the firm.&nbsp; Pratik Pota resigned as CEO &amp; Wholetime&nbsp;Director as he looks to pursue an external opportunity, the company informed in a filing to stock exchanges.&nbsp;Pratik Pota joined Jubilant FoodWorks in 2017 and took over the reins from Ajay Kaul&nbsp;and took startegic decisions of scaling down Dunkin&nbsp;Donuts and focusing&nbsp;on core biz.&nbsp; Under Pota, Profit for Jubilant Foodworks&nbsp;rose by 5 times and stock also soared over 10 times as revenue saw a 55% jump.&nbsp;
