BSP MP Danish Ali has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against Ramesh Bidhuri's derogatory remarks in the Lok Sabha against him. Ali has urged the PM to make a public statement condemning Bidhuri's behaviour and ensure "suitable punishment" to the BJP MP.
In a letter to the prime minister, Ali also demanded that he be provided enhanced security in view of an "escalation of threats" against him.
Expressing grave concern as a Member of Parliament over the "recent shameful events" that occurred on the floor of the House, the BSP leader called on the prime minister, as the Leader of the House, to take note of the incident.

Notably, the Opposition has been building pressure on Speaker Birla amid calls for a probe by the privileges committee against Ramesh Bidhuri for his unparliamentary language.&nbsp;

Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla has referred BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri abuse case to the privileges committee, party MP Nishikant Dubey informed on September 27. As per reports, complaint against Danish Ali has also been referred to the panel.
Expressing gratitude to the Speaker, Dubey wrote on X, "Gratitude to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha @ombirlakota, he entrusted the responsibility of investigation in the Danish Ali case to the committee of @LokSabhaSectt. Today this was possible because the BJP has majority in the Lok Sabha, otherwise in the first Lok Sabha in 2006, RJD-JDU- Congress' shoe and mike fight, Sonia Gandhi's assault in 2012, fatal fight at the time of the formation of Telangana in 2014 and MP seen injured, neither committee formed nor punished.

Facing a backlash over his tirade against BSP MP Danish Ali on the floor of the Lok Sabha during a discussion on the country's successful lunar landing mission &mdash; Chandrayaan-3, BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri on Sunday sidestepped a direct query on his remarks.
To a question on his remarks, which saw the BSP MP writing to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and several Opposition members calling for his dismissal from the Lower House as well as the BJP, Budhuri on Sunday said, "No comments."
He added that Speaker Birla was "looking into the matter".

Dubey had urged the Lok Sabha speaker to launch a probe into Danish Ali's conduct, alleging that he provoked Ramesh Bidhuri by making blasphemous remarks against PM Modi and his &nbsp;family &nbsp;in the house&nbsp;
Speaking to ANI on Sept 24, Ali said, &nbsp;"I request the (Lok Sabha) speaker that this should be inquired because this is one more matter of breach of privilege. I demand action be taken against Nishikant Dubey for what he has written... If what Nisghikant Dubey is saying is true, there must be a video of the same... Is it true that all the BJP MPs were sitting and laughing there? This means that they did not come in support of the PM... They did my verbal lynching on the house... Now they are trying to lynch me outside..."

Opposition parties on Saturday stepped up pressure on Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for stringent action, including suspension, against BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri over his derogatory remarks against BSP MP Danish Ali in the House.
Congress chief whip in Lok Sabha K Suresh, who was in the chair at the time of the incident, is among the leaders who have written to Birla demanding the immediate suspension of Bidhuri and that the matter be sent to the privileges committee.
While the BJP had issued notice to Bidhuri after facing flak over his utterances, the party also hit back at the opposition leaders, alleging they have been making uncouth and objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his parents.
BJP MP Nishikant urged the Speaker to form an inquiry committee to look into statements made by Ali and members from parties like the TMC and the DMK in Lok Sabha and alleged that the BSP MP made "highly objectionable" remarks against Modi that provoked the ruling party MP.
He used the "neech" barb, the BJP leader claimed, saying it was more than enough for "any patriotic public representative to lose his calm and fall into his trap by uttering unsavoury words." Dubey was, however, categorical in condemning Bidhuri's comments, saying no decent society can justify them and they cannot be condemned enough.

Reacting to the development, BSP supremo Mayawati said it was "unfortunate" that the BJP has not yet taken "appropriate" action against Bidhuri.
