Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Friday raised the issue of air pollution in major cities of the country and sought a discussion on it in the Lok Sabha.&nbsp;
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Gandhi said the discussion on the issue can be framed in an interesting manner where the opposition and the government do not trade abuses at each other, but find a solution to the problem.
"This is not an ideological issue. Everybody in this House would agree that air pollution, the damage it is doing to our people, is something that we would like to cooperate on," Gandhi said.&nbsp;
The Congress leader said the prime minister can then put in place a plan to deal with the issue of air pollution.&nbsp;
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the government was ready for a discussion on the issue and the Business Advisory Committee of the Lok Sabha can allot time for the same.&nbsp;
"Most of our major cities are living under a blanket of poisonous air. Millions of children are getting lung disease. Their future is being destroyed. People are getting cancer. Older people are struggling to breathe," Gandhi said.&nbsp;

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said he directly challenged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss his press conferences on "vote chori" in Parliament but did not get any answer.
A day after the Lok Sabha witnessed a heated exchange between him and Shah during a debate on election reforms, Gandhi claimed that Shah appeared to be "under pressure".
"He (Shah) used the wrong language, his hands were shaking, you would have seen all this. He is under pressure mentally that was witnessed in Parliament, the whole country saw it," the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha told reporters in the Parliament House complex.

"The things I have said, he did not address, did not give any proof. We have said it publicly in press conferences. I directly challenged him to let us discuss my press conferences in Parliament. Did not get an answer. You know the reality," Gandhi said.
Gandhi on Wednesday called the home minister's response during the debate "completely defensive" and asserted that "vote chori" is the "biggest treason".
He also claimed that the home minister did not respond to any of the points raised by him and remained evasive including on transparent voter lists, EVMs and granting immunity to the chief election commissioner.
The opposition MPs, including Gandhi, staged a walkout in the Lok Sabha during the debate on electoral reforms.
Later in a post on X, Gandhi said the home minister's response in Parliament on "vote theft" was "panicked" and "defensive".&nbsp;

Rahul Gandhi launched a fierce attack in Lok Sabha alleging the BJP and Election Commission are colluding to enable &ldquo;vote chori&rdquo;, calling it the most serious anti-national act while demanding key electoral reforms.

In a no-holds-barred attack, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said "vote chori" is the "most serious anti-national act" and alleged that the BJP and the Election Commission are "colluding to destroy" India's democracy and "rob people of their voice".
Participating in a discussion on election reforms in the Lok Sabha, Gandhi posed three questions which he claimed make it clear that the BJP is "directing and using" the Election Commission (EC) to damage India's democracy.
Making suggestions, Gandhi called for providing machine readable voter list to all parties one month before elections, taking back the law that allows destruction of CCTV footage after 45 days, giving access to EVMs, and changing the law that allows the election commissioners "to get away with whatever they want to do".
"When you destroy the vote, you destroy the fabric of this country, you destroy modern India, you destroy the idea of India," Gandhi said, gesturing towards the treasury benches.
Later, in a post on X, Gandhi said, "Vote Chori is the most serious anti-national act. Vote chori sabse bada deshdroh (treason) hai."
He said India is not only the biggest but the greatest democracy in the world.
"BJP and the Election Commission are colluding to destroy our democracy and rob people of their voice," Gandhi said on X.
In his speech in the Lok Sabha, the former Congress chief also asked why the chief justice of India was removed from the selection panel for the appointment of the chief election commissioner and the election commissioners.
"Why is it that the CJI was removed from the selection panel for (appointing) the election commissioners? What motivation could there be to remove the CJI? Do we not believe in the CJI? Of course, we believe in the CJI. Why is he not in that room?" he said.
"I sit in that room. It is a so-called democratic decision. On one side, there is Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. On the other side, the leader of the opposition. I have no voice in that room. What they decide is what happens," he said.
So, why are the prime minister and home minister so keen on choosing exactly who the election commissioner is going to be, Gandhi asked.
"No prime minister has done this in the history of India. In December 2023, this government changed the law to make sure that no election commissioner could be punished for any action they take," the Congress leader said.
"Why would the prime minister and home minister give this gift of immunity to the election commissioner?" he said.
He further questioned why the law with regard to CCTV footage was changed.
"Why was a law put in place that allows the Election Commission to destroy CCTV footage 45 days after the election? What is the need? The answer given is that it is a question of data. But it is not a question of data. It is a question of stealing the election," he said.
Gandhi further said electoral reform is very simple, but the government doesn't want to do it.
"What does electoral reform require? Nothing more than what we've been saying. Give machine-readable voter lists to all political parties one month before the election. Take back the law that allows the destruction of CCTV footage.
"While you're doing that, also tell us what the architecture of the EVM is. Give us access to the EVM. Let our experts go and see what is inside the EVM. Till today, we have not had access to the EVM," he said.
"Change the law that allows the election commissioner to get away with whatever he wants to do. That's all the electoral reforms you need," he said.
Gandhi said he wants to remind the election commissioners that they might be under the impression that this law lets them get away with any wrongdoing but it is not so.
"Let me remind them: don't worry, we are going to change the law, and that too retroactively. And we are going to come and find you," he said.
In his speech in the Lok Sabha, elaborating on the "result of controlling" the chief election commissioner and the EC, Gandhi also said "we have a set of election campaigns that are tailored for the prime minister".
"Secondly, we have a Brazilian woman who appears 22 times on the voter list of Haryana. And not only that, there is one woman whose name has appeared over 200 times in one constituency in Haryana. And it is very clear, and I have proven without doubt that the election in Haryana was stolen, and the vote chori was ensured by the Election Commission of India," he said.
Gandhi also asked why after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, "1.2 lakh duplicate photos exist in Bihar voting list".
"If you've cleaned up the voting list, why are there 1.2 lakh duplicates in Bihar?These are straightforward questions. But the Election Commission has no answer to these questions," he said.
America calls itself the oldest democracy. But the democracy that weaves together the largest number of people, the largest diversity of people, the largest number of languages, and the largest number of states is India, Gandhi said.
"So our most powerful asset, the thing that stitches together the entire concept of modern India, brings people together, and allows them to build this great nation, is being attacked by these people," he said in an apparent attack at the BJP.
"They're destroying it. You know they're destroying it. I know they're destroying it. And they themselves know they're destroying it," he added.
In his remarks, Gandhi recalled that on January 30, 1948, three bullets pierced the chest of Mahatma Gandhi and Nathuram Godse assassinated the "father of our nation".
"Today, our friends (in the BJP) don't embrace him and push him away, as he is an uncomfortable truth. But that's not where the project ended," he said.
After Gandhiji's assassination, the next step of the project was the "wholesale capture" of India's institutional framework, he alleged.

The Congress on Friday delivered one of its poorest electoral performances in Bihar&rsquo;s history, winning only six of the 61 seats it contested in the Assembly elections.
The party, which once dominated Bihar politics, managed to finish just ahead of Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM and Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), both of which secured five seats each.
This outcome marks the Congress&rsquo; second-worst show ever in the state, narrowly better than its tally of four seats in 2010. The party secured a vote share of 8.75 per cent, slightly higher than the 8.17 per cent recorded 15 years ago.
Senior Leaders Defeated
The Congress&rsquo; state unit president Rajesh Kumar lost from the Kutumba seat, where he was defeated by NDA&rsquo;s HAM candidate Lalan Ram. Shakeel Ahmed Khan, the legislature party leader in the outgoing assembly, was defeated by JD(U) candidate Dulal Chandra Goswami from the Kadwa seat by a margin of 18,368 votes.
Winning Congress Candidates
The six Congress candidates who succeeded are:

 &lsquo;Vote Chori&rsquo; Narrative Fails to Connect
The Congress&rsquo; campaign, centred heavily around Rahul Gandhi&rsquo;s 'vote chori' charge, did not resonate with voters.
The party&rsquo;s messaging through Gandhi&rsquo;s "Voter Adhikar Yatra", anti-Election Commission statements, SIR criticism, and appeals to the youth to "restore democracy" had little impact.
In a state where 40% of the population is below 18 and 23% is between 18 and 29, the Congress failed to attract young voters.
The caste census pitch&mdash;once a significant Opposition plank&mdash;lost relevance after the NDA announced caste inclusion in the upcoming census.
Structural, Organisational Challenges Deepen
Persistent issues within the Opposition alliance also contributed to the Congress&rsquo; poor show. RJD, Congress, and Left candidates clashed on at least eight seats, diluting the coalition&rsquo;s influence.
Lack of unity, failure to project a cohesive narrative, and leadership shortcomings&mdash;including the political handling by state in-charge Krishna Allavaru&mdash;added to the party&rsquo;s struggles.
NDA&rsquo;s Advantage
The ruling NDA benefited from:
- Strong pro-incumbency
- Support from women, youth and extremely backward classes
- Schemes such as ₹10,000 under Mahila Rozgar Yojana
- Job promises and pension assurances
- Effective messaging around the RJD&rsquo;s &lsquo;jungle raj&rsquo; period
Fragmentation of anti-NDA votes due to Tej Pratap Yadav contesting separately and Prashant Kishore&rsquo;s Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) further boosted NDA's performance.
Historical Decline Continues
The Congress, which once won 239 seats with 41.38% voteshare in 1952, has seen a steady decline for decades:
- 196 seats in 1985
- 71 in 1990
- 29 in 1995
- 23 in 2000
- Single digits in 2005
- Only six seats in 2024, representing one of its worst performances
Road Ahead Looks Challenging
Insiders say the party must &ldquo;return to the drawing board&rdquo; to rework its organisational structure, strategy, and voter engagement. With the EC initiating special intensive revision (SIR) in states going to polls next year, the Congress must decide whether to continue its 'vote theft' campaign or craft a new narrative.
The Bihar setback comes ahead of major battles in Assam and Kerala in 2026, where it faces a strong BJP and CPI(M), respectively. In West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, the party remains a marginal player.

The BJP on Wednesday dismissed Rahul Gandhi's allegation of mass vote theft in the Haryana Assembly Polls as "false and baseless" and accused the Congress leader of raising questions on the Election Commission to hide his failures and defame the country's democracy.
Rijiju's retort came hours after Gandhi cited electoral list data from Haryana to claim that 25 lakh entries were "fake" and the victory in the state was "stolen" from his party last year.
Gandhi said he had "100 per cent" proof of the malfeasance he alleged.
Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju, in a press conference, accused Gandhi of "playing games" in collusion with "anti-India" forces to defame the country.
He said Gandhi goes abroad during elections, does not meet people on the ground, and cries foul after his party loses.
He derided him as someone who cannot work hard or live among the people.
If there is any irregularity with the voting, then one must flag it with the EC or approach the court. "But he never does it," he said about the Congress leader.

Election Commission officials dismissed Rahul Gandhi&rsquo;s claim of 25 lakh fake voters in Haryana, stating no appeals or objections were filed and urging him to present evidence in court.

Rahul Gandhi's vote manipulation charge is "unfounded" as no appeals were filed against the electoral rolls in Haryana, nor was any multiple voting flagged when it happened, Election Commission officials said on Wednesday.
The poll body officials were reacting to Gandhi's claim that 25 lakh entries were "fake" and that the Haryana Assembly Polls last year were "stolen." They also questioned why Congress's booth agents did not flag voters who had cast multiple votes in the election in October 2024.
"Why were no claims and objections raised by INC's Booth-Level Agents during revision to avoid multiple names?" an official said, countering Gandhi's allegation. Booth-level agents, or BLAs, are appointed by political parties to flag irregularities, if any, in electoral rolls.
EC officials underlined that "zero appeals" were filed against electoral rolls and only 22 election petitions were currently pending in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. As many as 23 election petitions were filed, and one was later withdrawn.
They said Gandhi has raised the issue of the Rai and Hodal assembly seats in Haryana. "Since election petitions have been filed in both the constituencies among the 23 filed for Haryana assembly elections, Mr Gandhi may be advised to use all his evidence there," an official suggested.
An election petition can be filed within 45 days of the announcement of the results in the high court of that state. "What were the polling agents of INC doing in the polling stations? They are supposed to object if the elector has already voted or if the polling agents doubt the identity of the elector," the official said.
Referring to EC's efforts to clean up the voter lists across states, officials wondered whether Gandhi supports the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), which removes duplicate, dead, and shifted voters along with verification of citizenship. "Or is he opposing SIR," an official asked.

On the issue of zero house numbers, EC officials said 'House Number Zero' is also for houses where the panchayat and municipalities have not given house numbers. House Number 'zero' has been given by booth-level officers, where no house number is allotted by municipalities or panchayats.

Gandhi alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and the two election commissioners colluded with the BJP to ensure its victory in Haryana and claimed that "they are in partnership" with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
'Operation Sarkar Chori' was launched to convert the landslide Congress victory into loss in Haryana, the former party president alleged. He also alleged that CEC Gyanesh Kumar is "lying" to the people of India when he stated that house number zero is given to homeless people and that is the reality of zero number houses.
Addressing a press conference at the Indira Bhawan here, Gandhi cited the electoral list of Haryana to claim that 25,41,144 were fake voters with multiple examples of duplicate voters, invalid addresses and bulk voters.
"Why is the Election Commission not removing duplicates? It is because if it does so, it would result in fair elections and it doesn't want fair elections," Gandhi said. "All polls pointed to a Congress victory in Haryana. The five top exit polls said Congress is sweeping. The other thing that was surprising was that for the first time in Haryana, the postal votes were different from the result. In postal ballots, Congress got 73 seats while the BJP got 17 seats," he said.
Gandhi claimed that thousands of people associated with the BJP voted both in UP and Haryana both. During the presser, Gandhi showed a picture of a woman who appears on the voter list 22 times in 10 booths in the Rai assembly constituency and said this shows that this was a 'centralised operation'.
He claimed that the picture of the woman used for multiple entries is from Brazil. She is one of 25 lakh such records in Haryana which is proof of a centralised operation, Gandhi said. He alleged that there were 25,41,144 'vote chori' entries on the list which are fake in Haryana.
"One in 8 voters in Haryana are fake and despite that the Congress loses by 22,779 votes which was the difference in eight seats," Gandhi said. "I was in shock, I simply could not believe what we found. I asked the team to cross check multiple times. I want young people, Gen Z to understand this clearly as your future is being stolen," Gandhi said.
He claimed that a plan was in motion to convert a landslide victory of the Congress into a loss in Haryana. Gandhi also played out a video of now Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who two days before counting, stated that the BJP would win and "we have a system in place".
"We suspected, once we did Mahadevapura and Aland, that this is not happening in just one constituency but this is being done at the state and national level," Gandhi said.
In September, Gandhi had accused CEC Kumar of protecting those who "destroyed democracy" and cited data from Karnataka Assembly constituency Aland to claim that votes of Congress supporters were being systematically deleted ahead of elections.
In August, Gandhi, citing data from the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, had claimed that over one lakh votes were "stolen" through manipulation in Mahadevapura assembly segment in Karnataka. The Election Commission had, however, dubbed the charges as "incorrect and baseless" and asserted that no deletion of votes can happen without giving an opportunity of being heard to the affected person.
The BJP won 48 seats in the 2024 assembly polls. The Congress, which was predicted to win by many exit polls, won 37 seats. The INLD won two seats while independent candidates bagged three in the 90-member Assembly.

Gandhi spent around 25 minutes with the family in Fatehpur district, where he spoke with Hariom's father Gangadeen, brother Shivam, and sister Kusum, offering condolences and support. Speaking to reporters afterward, he said, "Dalit oppression is at its peak under this government," while referring to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data that shows Uttar Pradesh leading in cases of crimes against Dalits.
Sharing details of the meeting on X, the Congress wrote in Hindi, "Leader of the Opposition Shri @RahulGandhi met with the family of Shri Hariom Valmiki in Fatehpur and shared their grief. A few days ago, Hariom, a Dalit, was brutally beaten to death. His family is in immense pain and is waiting for justice."
Calling the incident a serious constitutional violation, the party stated, "What happened to Hariom Valmiki is a grave offence against the Constitution of this country. Such a shallow ideology is a blot on society. We will continue to fight against this injustice and oppression. This country will be governed by Baba Saheb's Constitution, not by 'Manuvaad'." The Congress also shared photographs of the visit.
In another post, the Uttar Pradesh Congress described Rahul Gandhi as "the name of hope and support ('ummeed aur bharose kaa naam -- Rahul Gandhi')."
However, hours before Gandhi&rsquo;s arrival, a video allegedly released by Hariom&rsquo;s brother, Shivam Valmiki, surfaced in which he appeared to say, "We are satisfied with the government and do not need politics here." The Congress claimed this video was part of an attempt by the BJP to create pressure and manipulate the situation.
Tight security arrangements were made ahead of the visit, with the lane to the Valmiki residence heavily barricaded.
Hariom Valmiki (40) was allegedly lynched around 1 am on October 2 during a night vigil when villagers reportedly mistook him for a thief amid rumours of gangs using drones to identify homes for robberies. The incident triggered widespread outrage, with opposition parties, including Congress and Samajwadi Party, accusing the BJP government of failing to protect Dalits and prevent mob violence.
Following the assault, police registered a case and arrested 14 people, including the prime accused, who was caught after an encounter on October 10. Five policemen, including two sub-inspectors, were suspended for alleged lapses in handling the case.
Rahul Gandhi arrived at Chakeri airport and then travelled nearly 80 km by road to meet the bereaved family.
Ahead of his visit, Hariom&rsquo;s sister Kusum received an offer letter for a contractual position as a staff nurse at Fatehpur Medical College.
Earlier, Hariom&rsquo;s wife Sangeeta Valmiki and family had met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on October 11. During that meeting, Adityanath assured justice and government support, including housing under the CM Housing Scheme, a permanent job for Sangeeta Valmiki, and welfare coverage.
Adityanath said the accused were apprehended within 24 hours and reiterated that ensuring the safety and dignity of Dalits and deprived communities remained the government's top priority.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is "frightened" of US President Donald Trump, saying that he allowed the American leader to "decide and announce" that India will not buy Russian oil and "keeps sending congratulatory messages despite repeated snubs".
His assertion came after Trump claimed that his "friend" PM Modi has assured him that India would stop purchasing oil from Russia, a move he described as a big step toward increasing pressure on Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.
"PM Modi is frightened of Trump. Allows Trump to decide and announce that India will not buy Russian oil. Keeps sending congratulatory messages despite repeated snubs. Cancelled the Finance Minister's visit to America. Skipped Sharm el-Sheikh. Doesn't contradict him on Operation Sindoor," Gandhi said on X.
Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh also lashed out at the government over the issue.
"At 5:37 PM Indian Standard Time on May 10, 2025, the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was the very first to announce that India has halted Operation Sindoor. Subsequently, President Trump has claimed 51 times in 5 different countries that he had intervened to stop Operation Sindoor by using tariffs and trade as his weapon of pressure. Yet our PM kept silent," Ramesh said on X.
"Now President Trump has declared yesterday that Mr. Modi has assured him that India will not import oil from Russia. Mr. Modi appears to have outsourced key decisions to America. The 56-inch chest has shrunk and shrivelled," he said.
Speaking to reporters at his Oval Office on Wednesday, Trump said the US was not happy that India was buying Russian crude, arguing such purchases helped finance President Vladimir Putin's war.
"He (Modi) is a friend of mine, we have a great relationship... we were not happy with him buying oil from Russia because that let Russia continue on with this ridiculous war where they've lost a million and a half people," Trump said in response to a question.
"I was not happy that India was buying oil, and (Modi) assured me today that they will not be buying oil from Russia. That's a big step. Now we've got to get China to do the same thing," he said.
India is the second-largest buyer of Russian fossil fuels behind China, according to the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA).
Traditionally reliant on Middle Eastern oil, India, the world's third-largest oil importer, significantly increased its imports from Russia following the February 2022 Ukraine invasion.
Western sanctions and reduced European demand made Russian oil available at steep discounts. As a result, India's Russian crude imports surged from under 1 per cent to nearly 40 per cent of its total crude oil imports in a short span.
New Delhi has been maintaining that its oil imports are driven by national energy security and affordability concerns and that its position on the Russia-Ukraine conflict remains independent and balanced.&nbsp;

When a government wins public trust and comes to power, its first duty is to provide employment and opportunities to the youth, he said.

"But the BJP doesn't win elections honestly -- they stay in power by stealing votes and controlling institutions," Gandhi alleged.
That's why unemployment has reached a 45-year high, he said.
"That's why jobs are declining, recruitment processes have collapsed, and the future of youth is being jeopardised. That's why every exam paper leak and every recruitment is linked to stories of corruption," Gandhi said.
"The country's youth work hard, dream, and fight for their future. But (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi is solely focused on his PR, getting celebrities to sing praises for him, and billionaire profits. It has become the government's identity to shatter the hopes of the youth and leave them frustrated," the former Congress chief said.

Taking forward his "vote theft" claims, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of protecting those who "destroyed democracy" and cited data from a Karnataka Assembly constituency to claim that votes of Congress supporters were being systematically deleted ahead of elections.
Mounting another frontal attack against the Election Commission, Gandhi said the poll panel must stop protecting "vote chors" and provide within a week information sought by the Karnataka CID in an investigation into voter deletions. If not, it will be known for sure that it is complicit in the "murder of the Constitution", Gandhi said at a press conference at the Congress' Indira Bhawan headquarters here.
He also made it clear at the outset that the revelations were not the "hydrogen bomb" that he has promised and those will come soon.
"I am just creating the foundation. This is going on for 10-15 years. India's democracy has been hijacked. Democracy can only be saved by the people of India. Rahul Gandhi can show the truth. The day the people realise that their democracy and Constitution have been stolen, the job will be done," Gandhi said.
He cited details of alleged attempts to delete votes from Karnataka's Aland constituency in the run up to the 2023 polls. He also gave the example of Maharashtra's Rajura constituency where he claimed voters were added in a fraudulent manner using automated software.
"Same system is doing this. It is doing it in Karnataka, Maharashtra, it has done it Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and we have proof of it," the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha alleged.
"Our demand is Gyanesh Kumar, do your job, you have taken an oath, you are India's chief election commissioner, you must give evidence to the Karnataka CID," Gandhi said.
Talking about the Aland example, Gandhi said there were targeted deletions in strong Congress booths.
"The top 10 booths with maximum deletions were Congress strongholds. Congress won eight out of the 10 booths in 2018. This was not a coincidence; this was a planned operation," he alleged.
He said his revelations today are another milestone in demonstrating to the youth of the country how elections are being rigged.
"I am going to make a serious claim about Gyanesh Kumar. I am not saying this lightly, I am the leader of opposition. The CEC is protecting vote chors and the people who have destroyed Indian democracy," Gandhi alleged Someone has been systematically targeting millions of voters for deletion across India, he claimed.
"I am the leader of opposition and I will not say anything which is not backed by 100 per cent proof...I am someone who loves my country, I love my Constitution, I love the democratic process and I am protecting that process." In Karnataka's Aland, someone tried to delete 6,018 votes and got caught "by coincidence", he said, alleging that names of voters of the Congress were being deleted systematically.
"The booth-level officer noticed that her uncle's vote got deleted and found her neighbour had deleted the vote of her uncle. She asked her neighbour who said he had no idea. It was found that some other force hijacked the process and deleted the vote -- and as luck would have it got caught," Gandhi said.
He claimed that 6,018 applications were filed impersonating voters and this filing was done automatically using mobile numbers from outside Karnataka.
Gandhi also called on stage a voter whose vote was attempted to be deleted and the person whose name was used to get the deletion done. Both denied any knowledge of it.
According to the Congress leader, the deletions were being done using a software.
Noting that there is an ongoing investigation in Karnataka, Gandhi said the CID has sent 18 letters in 18 months to the Election Commission and asked for some simple facts such as the destination IP from where these applications were filled and OTP trails.
They are not giving it because it will lead us to where this operation is being conducted, Gandhi claimed.
He accused Gyanesh Kumar of protecting those who are doing this.
"EC knows who is doing this. I want every youngster in India to know this. They are doing this to your future. When they are not giving this information, they are defending the murderers of democracy," Gandhi said.
The Congress leader said it will take two-three months for the research and presentations on alleged "vote chori" that his party has been carrying out.
"When we are done with these presentations, you will have no doubt in your mind that state after state (elections) and Lok Sabha after Lok Sabha are being stolen. My job is to lay bare the truth and show it to the people of the country," Gandhi said.
"This Constitution is the protector of the people and I am protecting this. The job of protecting it is of the institutions, but they are not doing it," he said.
Gandhi also claimed that the party is also getting information and help from inside the Election Commission.
"This will not stop. The people of India will not accept this. When youngsters get to know that the 'vote chori' is being done, their strength will also join in," he added.
Asked who is the mastermind, Gandhi said he will also lay that before the people and his "hydrogen bomb" of revelations will put everything out in black and white.

The EC pointed out that in 2023, "certain unsuccessful attempts" were made for deletion of electors in Aland Assembly constituency and an FIR was filed by the authority of EC itself to investigate the matter.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday visited the flood-hit areas of Amritsar and interacted with those affected by nature's fury.
He was accompanied by Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, leader of opposition in the Punjab Assembly Partap Singh Bajwa, Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla and other party leaders.
After arriving in Amritsar, he headed to Ghonewal village in Amritsar's Ajnala and met the flood-hit people to enquire about the damage.
Ghonewal village was among several areas in Ajnala which was badly hit by floodwaters.
Gandhi sat among some flood-affected people and interacted with them.
After visiting Ghonewal village, Gandhi is scheduled to pay obeisance at the historic gurdwara Baba Budha Sahib in Ramdas area of Amritsar.
The former Congress president is also scheduled to visit flood-hit areas of Gurdaspur district.
Punjab faced one of its worst flood disasters in decades. The floods were a result of swollen Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers along with seasonal rivulets caused by heavy rainfall in their catchment areas in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
Besides, heavy rains in Punjab had also intensified the flooding situation.
The death toll because of the floods presently stands at 56 while crops on 1.98 lakh hectares were damaged.
On September 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reviewed the flood situation and damage in Punjab after conducting an aerial survey of the flood-ravaged areas during his visit.
He had announced a financial assistance of Rs 1,600 crore for the flood-hit state in addition to the Rs 12,000 crore already in the state's kitty.

Days after accusing the BJP of stealing elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday threatened that he will soon amplify his charges by coming out with more "vote chori" disclosures that would be like a "Hydrogen bomb" and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not be able to show his face to the country.
Speaking at the concluding event of his 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Patna, Gandhi said Bihar, being a revolutionary state, has given a message to the country about "vote chori" and will not allow such malpractice.
Alleging that the forces that killed Mahatma Gandhi are now trying to "murder" democracy and the Constitution, he claimed that the opposition INDIA bloc would not allow them to do so.
"We will not let them (BJP) murder the Constitution and that is why we took out a yatra. We got a tremendous response. People came out in large numbers and raised the slogan 'vote chor gaddi chhor' ((vote thieves, vacate the throne)," the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said at a major public meeting in the heart of the capital.
With this, the 15-day Voter Adhikar Yatra in poll-bound Bihar, which started from Sasaram on August 17, ended with a boisterous response from workers of the Congress, RJD and Left parties that displayed their strength on the streets of Patna on the last day on Monday.
Workers of various constituents of Mahagathbandhan lined up along the 7-km route of the Yatra on the last day, carrying flags and raising slogans in support of their leaders, amid the sound of 'vote chori' tunes, creating a charged atmosphere.
Gandhi was joined by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Vikassheel Insan Party chief Mukesh Sahani, CPI(M) general secretary M A Baby, CPI (ML) Liberation general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, CPI's Annie Raja, TMC MP Yusuf Pathan, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut and other INDIA bloc leaders.
The Yatra led by Gandhi and other Mahagathbandhan leaders covered a total of 1,300 km and passed through 110 assembly constituencies in 25 of the 38 districts ahead of the upcoming state elections.
"BJP people showed black flags to us. I want to tell them, listen carefully. Have you heard of anything bigger than an atom bomb? What is bigger than that; it is a hydrogen bomb. In Mahadevapura, we had shown an atom bomb. BJP people, be ready, a hydrogen bomb is coming. People are soon going to find out your (BJP) reality of vote chori," Gandhi said.
"In the coming time, I am guaranteeing you that after the hydrogen bomb (comes), Narendra Modi ji will not be able to show his face to the country," the former Congress chief said amid a thunderous applause from the crowds.
Citing data from the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Gandhi had last month claimed that over one lakh votes were "stolen" through "manipulation" in Mahadevapura assembly segment in Karnataka, and asserted that "vote chori" is an "atom bomb on our democracy".
The BJP, however, mocked Gandhi's claim of "hydrogen bomb", saying his "atom bomb" had turned out to be a damp squib, and accused him of demeaning his position as the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha with "irresponsible" comments.
The 'Gandhi se Ambedkar' march by the opposition parties on Monday was stopped midway by the police at the Dak Bungalow crossing, where the INDIA bloc leaders addressed a gathering.
In his address, Kharge attacked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying the JD(U) chief used to talk of socialism earlier but then "fell into the lap" of the BJP-RSS, which will dump him "where garbage is dumped".
Accusing Prime Minister Modi of being a "habitual" of "stealing votes", Kharge alleged that he is attempting to win the Bihar Assembly polls through "vote chori" (vote theft), and asserted that the BJP-led NDA's "double-engine" government in Bihar would be voted out soon, with a new government of the poor, backwards and Dalits being formed.
"Once upon a time, he used to go around and talk about socialism and praise Ram Manohar Lohia and George Fernandes and others. Where did those socialist ideas go? Now you have gone and fallen into the lap of the BJP-RSS." "This BJP-RSS will dump you where garbage is dumped," the Congress chief said, launching a stinging attack on Nitish Kumar.
"This Voter Adhikar Yatra was discussed throughout the country. There were attempts to disrupt it, but the people of Bihar and the Mahagathbandhan did not back down," Kharge said.
"Modi is attempting to win the Bihar polls through vote chori. Be alert. If you are not alert, Modi and (Amit) Shah will ruin you," he claimed.
"This double-engine government will not be there in six months and the new government that will be formed will be of the poor, women, Dalits and backwards," the Congress chief said.
He claimed that while "people in Manipur are dying, PM Modi is visiting countries across the world".
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav dubbed Nitish Kumar as the "Bhishma Pitamaha of moral corruption", alleging that his government is involved in several irregularities.
In a veiled attack against PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, Yadav claimed that the "two BJP leaders with the help of the Election Commission want to finish democracy" in the country.
"The Bihar CM is not in a conscious state of mind. He is lacking vision. In fact, the CM does not have a vision for the state. People will oust his government from power in the upcoming assembly polls," Tejashwi claimed.
He also alleged, "The Bihar CM has become 'Bhishma Pitamaha' of 'naitik bhrashtachar' (moral corruption) and he should not speak about irregularities," the RJD leader said.
He was referring to 'Bhishma Pitamaha' who was a central figure in the epic Mahabharata and is considered a statesman and military commander of the Kauravas during ancient times.
The RJD leader also accused Nitish Kumar of "copying" his development plans on several occasions.
"Now, Bihar wants an original CM, not a duplicate one," Yadav said.
JMM leader Hemant Soren alleged that people's rights were being snatched by the BJP-led NDA in the name of the special intensive revision (SIR), and that electoral rolls were being prepared as per the wishes of the ruling coalition.
He accused the NDA government of following a 'divide and rule' policy, and called upon all the INDIA bloc constituents to remain united to unseat the ruling alliance from power.
Accusing the BJP of colluding with the Election Commission to indulge in 'vote chori', Gandhi said, "I want to tell the youth of Bihar, vote chori means 'chori of rights, chori of reservation, chori of democracy, chori of employment, chori of education, and chori of future of youth." Later, in a post in Hindi on X, Gandhi said, "Heartfelt thanks to Lalu Prasad Yadav ji, Tejashwi Yadav ji, Dipankar Bhattacharya ji, Mukesh Sahani ji, Bihar Congress leadership, Congress' babbar shers (lions), INDIA bloc workers and the youth of the state for making the Bihar Voter Adhikar Yatra historic." "We pledge - not even a single vote will be stolen in Bihar. We will protect democracy and the Constitution with all our might," Gandhi said.
The march in Patna started with the INDIA bloc leaders offering floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Gandhi Maidan and ended with Rahul Gandhi paying floral tributes at the statue of B R Ambedkar located in Ambedkar Park in Patna.

The BJP on Thursday alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi-led "Voter Adhikar Yatra" in Bihar has crossed all "limits of insult, hate and tastelessness", as it said abuses were directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother during the campaign.
The BJP on its X handle refrained from posting the video of the incident but its content shared online by a few handles show some unidentified people using a Hindi abuse for Modi from a dais raised during the Yatra.

The BJP said, "Tejashwi (Yadav) and Rahul are behind the use of such a filthy language that it cannot be repeated from a public platform... Such lowliness was never seen before in politics. This Yatra has crossed all limits of insult, hate and tastelessness." They have used a very vulgar language against the prime minister's late mother, it said.
The ruling party claimed that the choice of such an abuse for his mother shows the state of the opposition's desperation as Gandhi and Yadav had earlier invited leaders like M K Stalin and Revanth Reddy, chief ministers of Tamil Nadu and Telangana respectively, who are accused of "insulting" people of Bihar.
People of Bihar will not forgive Gandhi and Yadav, the main campaigner for the RJD, for such a mistake even of they apologise thousands of time, the BJP said, calling the incident "extremely shameful".

Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday joined her brother and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi in the ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar's Supaul.
Vadra and Gandhi, along with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and other representatives of the INDIA bloc, were seen sitting on the roof of an SUV, which was moving slowly, as they waved at an enthusiastic crowd.
The yatra resumed on Tuesday after a break for a day.
Addressing a press conference in Araria on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi asserted that all the INDIA bloc constituents in Bihar were working unitedly for the upcoming assembly polls and that the results will be fruitful.
"The INDIA bloc will soon come out with a common manifesto for the Bihar assembly polls. All constituents of the opposition alliance are working unitedly... we are both ideologically and politically aligned... mutually respecting each other, and the results would be fruitful," Gandhi said.
"I call it a good partnership among all constituents of the INDIA bloc," he had said.
Launching a scathing attack on the NDA government at the Centre, Gandhi had alleged that the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the eastern state was "an institutionalised attempt by the Election Commission to steal votes to help the BJP".
Gandhi launched the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', supported by all INDIA bloc constituents, against the Election Commission's special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.
The 16-day yatra, which began on August 17 from Sasaram, will conclude with a rally in Patna on September 1 before covering over 1,300 km across the state, where assembly elections are due later this year.
The yatra has so far covered Gayaji, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Munger, Katihar and Purnea districts. Further, it will pass through Madhubani, Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, West Champaran, Saran, Bhojpur and Patna districts.
