The case against the father and the bar owners and its staff was registered under sections 75 and 77 of Juvenile Justice Act and relevant sections of Motor Vehicle Act.

A sessions court in Pune on Friday granted bail to the father of the juvenile accused in one of the cases pertaining to the Porsche car crash in which two software professionals were killed in the city last month.
The court also granted bail to five other accused, including the owner and managers of two bars, who were arrested for allegedly serving liquor to underage patrons.
On May 19, two IT professionals were killed in Kalyani Nagar here after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding Porsche car allegedly driven by a juvenile in an inebriated condition.
The case caused a national uproar after the Juvenile Justice Board member L N Danwade gave bail to the accused on very lenient terms, including writing a 300-word essay on road safety.
The police had registered three separate cases linked to the accident.
The primary case pertained to the accident itself, while the other case involved the two bar establishments -Cosie and Blak Club, as well as and the juvenile's father, who allowed him to drive the car despite knowing he had no valid license and that he was allegedly addicted to liquor.
The case against the father and the bar owners and its staff was registered under sections 75 and 77 of Juvenile Justice Act and relevant sections of Motor Vehicle Act.
While section 77 of JJ Act deals with supplying a child with intoxicating liquor or drugs, which was applicable to the owner and managers of the two bar establishments, section 75 of JJ Act pertains to punishment for cruelty to child. It applies to the father.
As per the FIR, the juvenile's father, by giving him a car to drive, endangered his life.
Advocate Prashant Patil, who represented the juvenile's father, confirmed that the court on Friday evening granted bail to him.
The argument on his client's bail application took place 10 days ago, Patil said, adding he had told court section 75 of JJ Act is non cognisable and does not contain provision of arrest.
While granting bail to the juvenile's father, court directed that he will abide by all conditions imposed on him and also cooperate with the police, Patil said.
Adv S K Jain, who represented Pralhad Bhutda (owner of Cosie ), Sachin Katkar (manager of Cosie ) and Sandip Sangale, Nitesh Shevani and Jayesh Gavkar, all staffers at Blak Club Hotel, said the five had also been granted bail by the court.
Jain said he argued in court that since section 77 of JJ Act is non-cognizable and there is nothing to be probed against his clients, they should be granted bail.
The juvenile accused's father and mother are currently in judicial custody in the case pertaining to the alleged blood sample swamping of their son. Among those arrested in this case are Dr Ajay Taware, the then HOD of Forensic Medicine department of Sassoon General Hospital, Dr Shrihari Halnor, the Chief Medical Officer of the hospital and staffer Atul Ghatkamble.
Advocate Patil also said an application for bail for the juvenile's father and grandfather has been moved in the case pertaining to kidnapping and wrongful confinement of the driver. Argument will take place on June 25, he added.
The juvenile is in an observation home till June 25. After he was given bail, police approached the JJB for a review of the decision amid national outrage. The JJB modified its order and sent the juvenile to an observation home.

Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole on May 28 claimed that the son of an MLA was also in the Porsche car, along with the 17-year-old accused. Police have claimed that the minor was driving the car under the influence of alcohol while mowing down two techies in Pune.
Briefing the media, Patole further alleged that the MLA, whose son was allegedly involved in the accident, used his influence to cover up the matter, and sought a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation.&nbsp;
Meanwhile, police have arrested the minor's father and grandfather, two doctors, and a peon of the Sassoon Hospital for their alleged role in covering the matter.
Dr Taware, head of the state-run hospital's forensic medicine department, chief medical officer Dr Shrihari Halnor, and staff member Atul Ghatkamble were arrested for allegedly throwing away the minor's blood samples, taken after the accident, and replacing them with the samples of another person's blood which had no traces of alcohol.
A three-member committee conducting an inquiry into the alleged manipulation of the blood samples visited the Sassoon hospital and also met police officials who are probing the case.
Elsewhere, Judicial Magistrate First Class A A Pande remanded builder Vishal Agarwal, the teenager's father, in police custody till May 31 in a case where he and his father Surendra Agarwal are accused of putting pressure on the family's driver to take the blame for the accident to shield the boy.
Surendra Agarwal, the minor's grandfather, was already arrested in this case for allegedly kidnapping the driver and putting him in illegal confinement. On Tuesday, Magistrate Pande extended his police custody till May 31.
Vishal Agarwal (50) was earlier arrested under the Juvenile Justice Act for allegedly exposing the minor to danger by giving him a car.
Following Dr Taware's arrest, a 2023 letter from local NCP MLA Sunil Tingre to Maharashtra medical education minister Hasan Mushrif, recommending that the doctor be given additional charge of medical superintendent, has surfaced.

The Maharashtra government has set up a three-member committee following the arrest of two doctors and an employee of Sassoon General Hospital.

The Crime Branch investigating the Pune Porsche case has recovered Rs 3 lakh cash that was given as a bribe to two senior doctors of Sasson General Hospital to replace the 17-year-old accused's blood sample, a report by News 18 outlet stated.
Earlier, the police claimed that the minor's father had given kickbacks to the doctors to swap his son's blood samples with another person's samples that showed no traces of alcohol.
The juvenile was sent to the state-run for a medical check-up after the deadly crash involving a Porsche car.
On May 27, the head of the Forensic Medicine Department and the chief medical officer of the hospital were arrested, apart from the peon of the hospital.
All three were accused of blood sample manipulation. They have been sent to police custody till May 30.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has set up a three-member committee following the arrest of two doctors and an employee of Sassoon General Hospital.
Medical Education Commissioner Rajiv Nivatkar on Monday issued the order appointing the dean of Grant Medical College and J J group of hospitals Dr Pallavi Sapale as the chairperson of the committee.
The other members are Dr Gajanan Chavan, professor of the forensic medicine department of Grant Medical College, and Dr Sudhir Chowdhary, Special Duty Officer at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Government Medical College and Super Speciality Hospital.
The committee is asked to visit Pune on Tuesday.
The commissioner has also directed Dr Vinayak Kale, Dean of Sassoon General Hospital, to cooperate with the committee in the probe, as per the order.

The grandfather of the 17-year-old Pune boy who fatally knocked down two techies was arrested on Saturday.
Pune's police commissioner Amitesh Kumar told ANI news agency that the Crime Branch unit of Pune Police arrested Surendra Agarwal for wrongfully confining the family driver and making him give statements to the police that he was driving the Porsche during the accident.
Kumar said that Agarwal was booked under IPC sections 365 (kidnapping or abducting someone with the intent to secretly and wrongfully confine them) and 368 (wrongful concealment or keeping in confinement of a kidnapped or abducted person). &nbsp;
The teenager's father Vishal Agarwal, who is in judicial custody in connection with the car accident, has also been named in this case, PTI news agency quoted a police officer.
A day earlier, Pune police chief Amitesh Kumar had said that an attempt was made to establish that the high-end car was not driven by the minor.
On a complaint by the family driver of the juvenile, the Yerawada police have registered a separate offence against the teen's grandfather and father, he said.
The two have been booked under IPC sections 365 (kidnapping with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine a person) and 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping in confinement), he said.
&ldquo;After the car crash, the teen's grandfather and father allegedly kept the driver's phone with them and put him in confinement in his house on the premises of their bungalow from May 19 to May 20. The driver was freed by his wife, said the official from the crime branch.
He said that Agarwal and his father allegedly threatened the driver and asked him to take the blame by claiming that he was at the wheel when the Porsche crashed into a motorcycle in the early hours of Sunday.
On Friday, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar told reporters that an attempt was made to establish that the Porsche was not driven by the 17-year-old, and the driver employed by his family even tried to take responsibility.
After the accident, the driver initially claimed he was driving the car, the commissioner said, adding, &ldquo;Why and under whose pressure he said that will be disclosed at an appropriate time.&rdquo; Citing their investigation, Kumar said it had emerged that the juvenile was driving the car and they had already collected all the necessary chronological evidence. &ldquo;For example, when the juvenile left the house, the entry on the security register shows that he left with the car,&rdquo; the commissioner had said.
&ldquo;He was fully in his senses, he had full knowledge that due to his conduct, such an accident, where IPC section 304 is applicable, can happen,&rdquo; the officer said. Section 304 deals with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The Pune police on Friday suspended two cops, including an inspector from Yerwada police station, for delayed reporting and dereliction of duty in the case.
The Porsche, allegedly driven by the teenager, who the police claim was drunk at the time, killed two motorbike-borne software engineers in the Kalyani Nagar area of the city in the early hours of Sunday (May 19).
A local court in Pune on Friday remanded the six accused arrested in the case, including the teenager's father, in judicial custody. The teenager is in an observation home till June 5.
The Madhya Pradesh-based parents of the two IT professionals who were killed in the accident have demanded that the Supreme Court monitor the probe and the trial be held in their state.
