The buyer is still unknown.

This auction has set a new world record for the highest-priced dress worn by Princess Diana to be sold, surpassing the previous record established earlier this year with the sale of her purple evening gown by designer Victor Edelstein, which fetched $604,800.&nbsp;
"The entire collection holds great sentimental value for me, and the sole reason for putting them up for sale is that I officially retired five weeks ago," Azagury shared with PEOPLE. "My intention is for people to continue relishing these iconic dresses, and ideally, to maintain the collection as a whole."
The designer added, "With a perpetual enthusiasm for fashion, she anticipated bringing joy to numerous eager individuals awaiting her appearance in the next outfit&mdash;be it those on the streets or those watching her on television. A red sweater worn by Princess Diana soon after her engagement to then Prince Charles has been sold for $1.1 million at an auction, Sotheby's announed on Thursday. The iconic sweater had several white sheep on it and one black sheep.&nbsp;
Princess Diana wore the sweater to a polo match in 1981 during her royal in-the-making days,&nbsp;
Called the "Black Sheep" sweater, it became quite popular and is now a symbol of Diana's difficult time as a royal. It was sold for a whopping amount of $1.1 million which was much more than what the experts expected. Sotheby's earlier expectation was that it would sell between the price range of $50,000 to $80,000.
This black sheep sweater was designed by Sally Muir and Joanna Osborne and their knitting company Warm and Wonderful, which was not popular at that time. However, the designers garnered fame after Diana sported their sweater.
Because of the high demand for this sweater, the auction lasted longer than expected. The price went up from $190,000 to $1.1 million in just 15 minutes at the end.
Sotheby's in a statement said that this is the highest price ever paid at auction for a garment that belonged to Princess Diana. The sweater sold at an even higher price than her fancy ball gown which was sold for $604,000 in January. Moreover, it's the most expensive sweater ever sold at an auction.

Mohamed Al-Fayed, controversial billionaire and the father of Dodi Al-Fayed who was killed along with Princess Diana in 1997, has died his family said in a statement on 1 September 2023.
"Mrs Mohamed Al-Fayed, her children and grandchildren wish to confirm that her beloved husband, their father and their grandfather, Mohamed, has passed away peacefully of old age on Wednesday, August 30, 2023," his family said in a statement released by the football club he once owned, Fulham FC.
"He enjoyed a long and fulfilled retirement surrounded by his loved ones. The family have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time."
Fayed will be remembered most for his outspoken and often foul-mouthed manner, his revenge on the Conservative party, his controversial purchase of the Harrods department store, and ownership of Fulham football club and the Ritz hotel in Paris.
With a business empire encompassing shipping, property, banking, oil, retail and construction, Fayed was also a philanthropist, whose foundation helped children in the UK, Thailand and Mongolia.
Fayed bought the Ritz in 1979 with his brother and the pair snapped up Harrods six years later after a long and bitter takeover battle.

BBC director-general Tim Davie said the corporation has agreed to pay "substantial damages" to Pettifer. The broadcaster had "failed to ask the tough questions" about how the Diana interview was obtained, he added.
"I would like to take this opportunity to apologise publicly to her, to The Prince of Wales, and to the Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex, for the way in which Princess Diana was deceived and the subsequent impact on all their lives," Davie said in a statement.

A novel written by Princess Diana’s brother Charles Spencer titled, "To Catch A King: Charles II's Great Escape" is all set to get an onscreen adaptation.
The story will be written by Academy award-nominated writers Steve Coogan and Jeff Pope. However, it is not confirmed yet if the novel will be adapted as a film or a series.
The novel is based on the true story of Charles II who is on the run from the army of Oliver Cromwell in England. Published in October 2017, the novel is based on intriguing stories which revolve around the prince. 
The adaptation rights of the film are bagged by the production company Baby Cow. As of now, the makers have not revealed further details of the film.
