With the popularity of ChatGPT, a lot of fake apps claiming to be based on ChatGPT have surfaced on both the App Store and the Google Play Store. These apps trick users by asking for payment for a product that is typically free. An app named "ChatGPT Chat GPT AI with GPT-3" was downloaded tens of thousands of times before it was removed from the Play Store. This app also required payment of $49.99 for ad-free usage. As there is currently no official app for ChatGPT, it is important to be careful when downloading apps claiming to be based on the chatbot.

Users who use apps downloaded from the Play Store to record their calls may soon have to look for alternative methods, as Google is set to ban this functionality. Call recording apps currently use the Accessibility API to record a user&rsquo;s calls. However, Google&rsquo;s recent changes to the Play Store Policy specifies that apps cannot use the Accessibility API for this purpose.
Google has been slowly deprecating call recording functionality through apps over the years, over concerns with privacy and the legality of call recording in different jurisdictions.

However, the change will not apply to pre-loaded system apps which offer call recording facilities. Thus, users of Samsung and Xiaomi phones, whose dialer apps offer this functionality, will be able to keep recording their calls.

The game allows users to get player stickers after each transaction, collect them and receive Paytm Cashback. Google, in its own blog post on Friday, said it does not allow apps facilitating sports betting and hence removed the app from Play store. Google had said, these policies are in place to protect users from potential harm, especially since there is often a surge in launches of such apps before major sporting tournaments like the IPL.

Google has pulled down popular financial services app Paytm from the Play Store for violating its gambling policies.
Google in a statement said that Play Store prohibits online casinos and other unregulated gambling apps that facilitate sports betting in India. It added that the move includes those apps which leads consumers to an external website that allows them to participate in paid tournaments to win real money/cash prizes.
Assuring users that their money was safe,&nbsp;Paytm&nbsp;in a tweet said,&nbsp;it was working with Google to restore its app on PlayStore. It added that all services are fully functional on all existing apps and users can continue to enjoy&nbsp;Paytm like before.
Paytm is India&rsquo;s most valued startup and claims over 50 million monthly active users. Its marquee app, which competes with Google Pay in India, also disappeared from the Play Store in the country earlier on Friday.
The announcement from Google is being seen as a preemptive attempt to remind other developers about its gambling policies, as the Indian Premier League kicks off.
