Former External Affairs Minister and BJP leader&nbsp;Sushma Swaraj, who passed away in 2019&nbsp;was awarded the Padma Vibhushan award posthumously.
President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday presented the award to her daughter Bansuri Swaraj at a ceremony in Delhi.
Kovind also presented Padma Bhushan award to badminton player PV Sindhu and Captain of the women&rsquo;s hockey team Rani Rampal, who led the team in the Tokyo Olympics, was conferred the Padma Shri award 2020.
Noted Hindustani classical singer Pandit Chhannulal Mishra has also received the Padma Vibhushan award 2020, while singer Adnan Sami received the Padma Shri Award 2020.&nbsp;
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah also attended the event.

Senior Advocate, veteran jurist and former Attorney General of India Soli Sorabjee passed away at 91 on Friday. He had COVID-19 infection and was under treatment.
Sorabjee was born in 1930 in Bombay and commenced his legal practice in 1953 in Bombay High Court. In 1971, he was designated senior counsel by the Supreme Court of India. He became the attorney general of India first from 1989-90 and then from 1998-2004.
Sorabjee was awarded Padma Vibhushan in March 2002 for his efforts toward defending freedom of expression and the protection of human rights.

India's first female cardiologist&nbsp;Dr S Padmavati&nbsp;passed away on the 29th of August, due to Covid-19.

Dr S Padmavati, an eminent cardiologist, a&nbsp;Padma Vibhushan awardee&nbsp;and the director of&nbsp;Delhi&rsquo;s National Heart Institute, passed away after battling&nbsp;Covid-19 at the age of 103. She was undergoing treatment for the deadly disease at the&nbsp;National Heart Institute for the last 11 days.
Known as the 'God Mother of Cardiology' she was working 12 hours a day and 5 days a week at NHI&nbsp;till 2015.
In 1954, she also founded&nbsp;North India&rsquo;s first Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory at&nbsp;Lady Hardinge Medical College.
