Around one in five people run background checks on their online dates before meeting them, a new survey says.

Dating has never been easy and many singles feel it has become even trickier with the majority of communication taking place online.&nbsp;
According to a survey conducted by the Thriving Center of Psychology, nearly 20% of singles run a background check before going on a date with their online match.&nbsp;
The survey also revealed that 35% of people do not feel safe when using dating apps, despite 67% claiming to have used them at one point. However, 69% of people who have used platforms like Hinge, Bumble and Tinder, despise the apps.

Season 2 has been called Swipe Night: Killer Weekend, and goes live on Sunday, November 7 for a period of 3 weeks in 25 markets worldwide, including India. The series allows Tinder members to join a group of friends on a birthday weekend getaway, where they could even become a suspect to a murder mystery, based on the interactive choices they make.
Every episode in Season 2 of Swipe Night will require Tinder members to make over 10 unique choices, which will lead them down different paths. Targeted at Gen Z users, it aims to offer a new way to find matches on the platform, without having to go through the profiles of other Tinder members.
Swipe Night: Killer Weekend will be available through the Explore tab on a weekly basis from 6pm to midnight, starting Sunday, November 7.

Unlike a human partner, the chatbot replies to messages at all hours of the day, tells jokes, gives pep talks and seems to be&nbsp;the perfect companion&nbsp;in&nbsp;the life of a busy single.&nbsp;A human partner may never learn, but this virtual friend or lover is constantly learning about you to improve your interactions. And users are largely ok with the data mining!

Little Ice has&nbsp;150 million users in China alone. What was once a side-project of Microsoft, now accounts for&nbsp;60 per&nbsp;cent of global human-AI interactions by volume.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The bot has become something of a celebrity in China&nbsp;and online forums dedicated to&nbsp;Xiaoice&nbsp;discuss&nbsp;tips on how to reach the chatbot's highest "intimacy" level of three hearts.&nbsp;Meanwhile, the developer&nbsp;raised its valuation to $1 billion in a funding round led by Hillhouse Capital Management&nbsp;in July 2021.&nbsp;And the market for AI chatbots&nbsp;is valued at $420 million in China.
<h3>Are these relationships good for people?</h3>
There are plenty&nbsp;of&nbsp;other chatbots in the market.&nbsp;Replika, a San Francisco-based product&nbsp;comes with unique humanoid avatars based on user selections.&nbsp;In a study, researcher Marita&nbsp;Skjuve&nbsp;found that relationships with such chatbots had a mostly positive effect on&nbsp;Replika&nbsp;users.&nbsp;They perceived their chatbots relationships as accepting, understanding and non-judgmental.
Like the 2013 film HER, users find it easier to open up to their lover bots than with actual humans.&nbsp;
But&nbsp;Danit Gal, an AI ethics expert tells AFP that users often &lsquo;trick themselves into thinking their emotions are being reciprocated by systems that are incapable of feelings.&rsquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;
Could chatbot relationships prevent people from forming human bonds? It's probably too early to say.&nbsp;But&nbsp;the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/new-ai-algorithm-to-diagnose-and-treat-sleep-disorders-find-out-1623745309782" target="_blank">AI</a> bots are definitely making the lack of human companionships more bearable for many.

To get cast for the show, users of the online dating app Tinder just have to &lsquo;swipe right&rsquo; on the&nbsp;Swipe Cards that will appear in between the members&rsquo; stack of potential matches all through July. Just &lsquo;Swipe Right&rsquo; on the app and you will be redirected to a registration page.&nbsp;
The reality show is expected to have a similar look and feel as other Netflix matchmaking shows like&nbsp;Indian Matchmaking, Love is Blind and&nbsp;Too Hot to Handle.
