Despite the glossiness of their victory over New Zealand, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was candid enough to admit that the team felt a few strands of pressure going into the World Cup semifinal in Mumbai on Wednesday.
India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semifinal to book a berth in the final to be played at Ahmedabad on Sunday.
"Obviously this being the semifinal, I won't say there was no pressure and the semifinal adds a bit extra (pressure).
"But we don&rsquo;t want to think too much about it, and just do what we've been doing like in the first nine games," said Rohit during the post-match presentation.
"We knew there would be pressure on us. We were very calm, even though we were a bit sloppy on the field. These things are bound to happen but glad we could get the job done." Rohit lauded his batters for helping the team post an imposing 397 for 4, that the Mumbaikar felt forced the Kiwis to take some risks during the chase.
"I've played a lot of cricket here (Wankhede Stadium), and you can&rsquo;t relax with any score on this ground. Yeah, they wouldn't have taken those risks (had India not posted 397).
"(Kane) Williamson and (Daryl) Mitchell batted brilliantly. It was important for us to stay calm. We knew that we needed a catch or run out and Shami was brilliant." Rohit then delved deeper into the batters' effort.
"The form of the top five-six batters, whenever they've received an opportunity, they've made it count. I am very pleased to see what (Shreyas) Iyer has done for us. (Shubman) Gill, the way he batted for us has been brilliant.
"It was unfortunate that he had to go off with cramps. (Virat) Kohli did what he does, and also got his landmark century," added Rohit.

Shami admitted that the Indians were also a bit worried about the dew factor in the evening as a lot of runs were scored in the afternoon.

"The wicket was very good, lots of runs were scored in the afternoon. There was some fear of dew, the grass had been shaved off from the wicket.
"If dew was there, it skids on and there's a chance runs could've been made," he added.
Shami found a place in the playing 11 after an injury to Hardik Pandya, and the pacer said he was waiting for his chance to make an entry into the side.
"I was waiting for my chances. I didn't play a lot of white-ball cricket. My return started against New Zealand (in Dharamsala)," he said.
However, Shami added that he felt terrible dropping New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, and was relieved that his lapse did not hurt India.
However, all's well that ends well and Shami said it felt amazing to enter the World Cup final.
"It feels amazing. During the last two World Cups, we lost in the semifinals. Who knows when or if we'll get a chance (to play another WC), so we wanted to do everything for this.
"This one chance we didn't want to let go. Everything for this," he concluded.

Cummins watched the mayhem unfold from close as he saw Maxwell brave painful cramps to produce an astonishing 201-run knock that floored Afghanistan.
"It would have been nice if it was a chanceless knock, but I had my chances, to make the most of it tonight was something I can be proud of," Maxwell said at the post-match presentation ceremony, referring to a couple of catches that Afghans dropped when Aussies were placed precariously.
For his skipper, who had the best seat in the house during a world record stand of 202, it was an "I was there kind of moment." "Ridiculous. Don't know how to describe it. Great win! It has got to be the greatest thing that has ever happened. One of those days people will say yeah, I was at the stadium for this game," Cummins said after the game.
Maxwell was a touch cross with critics who had written the Australians off after back-to-back defeats in the first two games against India and South Africa.
"Amazing, after the first two games, people were quick to write us off. The belief was always there (as a team), after today, it would have gone a bit higher." On suffering cramps, Maxwell said that it was due to the extreme heat and him not doing his physical drills prior to the game.
"It was hot while fielding today, I haven't done a lot of exercise in the heat, it got a hold on me today. I wanted to stay back and get some movement (on my legs)." Maxwell said that he had no option but to remain positive when his side was staring at an embarrassing defeat after being reduced to 92 for 7.
"Not too much (plans), just stick to the batting plans as much as possible, for me, still be positive, still look to play my shots," he said.
The DRS call that saved him also helped him unwind and go on the counter-attack.
"That lbw. It was going just above (the stumps), probably that made me be more proactive. A hint of swing and nip (off the surface), as it happens here under lights, they bowled beautifully to exploit that." Cummins felt that Maxwell always had a plan.
"He (Maxwell) was great, he was calm. He always had a plan. Even from 200 behind to be able to win the game that way, it was really special."

West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose on Saturday returned four complimentary tickets for the highly-anticipated cricket world cup match here between India and South Africa, following allegations of black marketing, a Raj Bhavan official said.
The tickets for the Eden Gardens tie were provided to him by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).
"The governor has returned the complimentary tickets to CAB. He has decided to open a &lsquo;Janata Stadium&rsquo; at the Raj Bhavan, where people can watch the match on a giant screen,&rdquo; the official told PTI.
A total of 500 people will be admitted on a first-come-first-served basis from 12 noon-2 pm to watch the match, he said.
Fans can also apply online for entry to the Raj Bhavan lawn.
Bose's decision came after the Raj Bhavan grievance cell received several complaints of black marketing of tickets for Sunday&rsquo;s match, the official said.
Police said since November 1, 19 people have been arrested for unlawful sale of tickets.&nbsp;

Cricket Association of Bengal's ticket mismanagement for Sunday's India-South Africa World Cup match took a political twist on Friday as a group of Congress supporters protested outside Eden Gardens demanding answers from CAB president Snehasish Ganguly.
A group of about 100-odd protesters led by South Kolkata District Congress president Pradip Prasad shouted slogans against Ganguly, holding placards and waving Congress flag. "We want answers, how the tickets are being sold in black market. This is not the first time an India match in the World Cup is happening in Kolkata," Prasad told PTI.
"Never before in history of the Eden Gardens so many life, associate and annual members were deprived of tickets. Yet tickets are available 10 times than their normal price in the black market," he claimed.
As per the figures available from the CAB, out of 65,000-odd capacity Eden Gardens only 17,000 tickets were available for sale.
The rest were reserved for the game's governing body ICC, tournament hosts the BCCI, and local hosts CAB, which also distributes tickets to its 121 affiliated clubs and associations, state associations, tournament sponsors and corporates.
The CAB had notified that 'limited' ticket booking for the India-South Africa November 5 clash for its life, annual and associate members were available online on October 23 between 11am and 8pm. But the site reportedly crashed within hours and had to be reopened the next day with a few lucky ones getting a chance to book their quota. The CAB had made available 3000 tickets.
"When Jagmohan Dalmiya was there, every member got tickets, annual, associate, life. It has not happened before at all," Prasad said.
"But this time, it's available in plenty in black market whereas there is nothing available for the life members who have paid in lakhs for their membership. Each black marketeer has 20-odd tickets. How and from where did they get?," he asked.
He further alleged that the state government has taken a major share of the tickets.
"The state government too has taken some tickets, we want the break-up." But the curious case this time is that the usual black marketeers, who do their business near the Box Office at the Mohammedan Sporting ground, themselves are looking for tickets.
"We are ready to offer you Rs 4000 for a Rs 900 ticket. This time we are also looking for tickets, everything is being sold online," a black marketeer near Mohammedan Sporting claimed.
The sellers have resorted to social media like Facebook to sell tickets with listings starting from Rs 15,000 onwards.
Meanwhile, the Kolkata Police's Detective wing grilled representatives of online portal BookMyShow and also summoned the CAB officials who refused to turn up.
"Our officers spoke to officials of the online portal but there were no representatives from the CAB so we have served another notice to them," said a Kolkata Police official of the Maidan wing.
Earlier on Thursday, former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had stood in support his elder brother Snehasish, saying that the state body has "no role" in the ticket controversy.
"Police can only get hold of the culprit. CAB has no role in this. Eden has a capacity of 67,000 and the demand is for more than one lakh."
"It's unfortunate. CAB can't sell tickets. They don't have Box Office once the ticket is out from Eden Gardens, nobody knows where and for what price it is sold," he said.&nbsp;

Shreyas Iyer knew that he would be asked probing questions about his apparent weakness against short ball but the Mumbaikar, after his smashing 82, was ready to hook any such queries out of the park.
"When you say it's a problem for me what do you mean?," Iyer went on a counter-offensive.
"Troubled me? Have you seen how many pull shots I've scored? Especially, which has gone for four? In my mind, I have no problems with short ball,&rdquo; Iyer replied to the query, seemingly agitated with the use of word 'problem'.
For Iyer, it is simple. Batters, who go on offensive often get out.
"If you're trying to hit a ball, you're bound to get out anyway. Irrespective of it's a short ball, (or) it's an over-pitch. If I get bowled two or three times, you all would say that OK 'he can't play an in-swinging ball' or 'he can't play a cut if ball is seaming'," Iyer said.
"We, as players, are bound to get out on any sort of deliveries. You guys have created that environment outside that 'he can't play a short ball'. And I feel that people are picking that up every now and then and it plays on your mind regularly and you keep working on that," Iyer added.
Iyer said he has played a majority of his domestic cricket at the Wankhede Stadium, his homeground, and he knows it well in terms of tackling the short ball.
"Coming from Mumbai, especially from Wankhede, where the bounce is pretty much even and it bounces way more than any other pitches. So, I've played (the) majority of my games here, so I know how to tackle it,&rdquo; he said.
Iyer said in his mind he knows there's no issue when it comes to facing the short ball.
"It's just that when I go to hit some shots, you are bound to get out and sometimes it may work, sometimes it may not. And (the) majority of the times it hasn't worked for me, maybe that's the reason you think it's a problem for me. But in my mind, I know there's no problem,&rdquo; he said.

&ldquo;Shreyas is a very strong (in his mind) lad and he went there and did what he is exactly known for and that is what we expect from him. Shreyas showed that he is ready to take the challenge that is in front of him,&rdquo; said Rohit.

Rohit was chuffed to see his bowlers dominating all comers in all conditions.
&ldquo;Siraj is a quality bowler and if he does that with new ball things look different for us. He has got a lot of skills when he is operating with the new ball.'

India batsman Sheryas Iyer said his side got 'lucky' that Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis decided to field first in their World Cup match in Mumbai on Thursday - as India went on to a comprehensive 302-run victory. Addressing a post-match press conference, he said, 'They won the toss and we were thinking that they would be batting first, especially when you come to Wankhede (Stadium) and play on such a brilliant track. And even in the huddle when we decided that if we win the toss we would be choosing to bat. But it didn't go according to plan - but we were lucky.'
Iyer made 82 in India's 357 for 8 as Mendi's decision rebounded on him - particularly when his batsmen were dismissed for just 55 in reply.
As a result of their win, India became the first side to qualify for the semi-finals. India's bowlers were clinical in their win over Sri Lanka and Iyer called the the performance surreal, 'Today's performance was surreal, especially by the bowlers. The way they stood up to the occasion and once we got that two, three wickets, we just capitalised on that as a bowling unit and also as a fielding unit. We supported our bowlers by taking a few catches here and there. So yeah, as I mentioned earlier, the team is in a great space.'

With India looking to seal their semis berth, they managed a superb first-half against Sri Lanka, posting a mammoth 357 with important contributions from Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer.
But the hosts' innings began with a shock when skipper and top-scorer Rohit Sharma departed off the second ball of the innings for just 4 runs.
The responsibility fell on Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill's shoulders who stitched up a 189-run partnership for the second wicket.
Virat steadied the ship as he scored his 70th half-century which included 8 boundaries.
The Mumbai crowd was in for a treat as Gill took charge and went off to complete his 50 a few balls later.
All of India was hoping for the duo to get to their respective centuries, but Dilshan Madushanka had other plans.
He sent Gill back at 92.
While Gill missed out on his maiden World Cup century, all eyes were then on King Kohli, who was on the cusp of equalling Sachin Tendulkar's record of 49 ODI tons. However, Madushanka took his third wicket of the day and India's hopes were down the drain as Kohli departed for 88. Shreyas Iyer then shone for the Men in Blue, smashing a 56-ball 82 which encompassed 6 sixes and 3 fours. India's innings ended at 357, their highest-ever ODI score without any player's 3-figure contribution. For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madushanka was the standout bowler with a 5-wicket haul.

The BCCI has banned the display of fireworks during the remaining World Cup games in Delhi and Mumbai due to worsening air quality in the two mega cities.
Delhi has only one match left to host, the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka game on November 6, while Mumbai are scheduled to host two more league games, on November 2 and November 7, and the semifinal on November 15.
&ldquo;BCCI is sensitive to environmental concerns. I took up the matter formally with the ICC and there won&rsquo;t be any fireworks display in Mumbai, which can add to the pollution level," said BCCI secretary Jay Shah in a statement on Wednesday.
"The Board is committed to combating environmental issues and will always place the interest of our fans and stakeholders at the forefront. The BCCI acknowledges the urgent concern surrounding air quality in both Mumbai and New Delhi.
"While we strive to host the ICC World Cup in a manner befitting the celebration of cricket, we remain steadfast in our commitment to prioritising the health and safety of all our stakeholders.&rdquo; Delhi's air quality remained in the "very poor" category for the fifth consecutive day on Wednesday with an air quality index (AQI) of 372.
The pollution situation has been alarming in Mumbai also.
The Bombay High Court on Tuesday expressed concern over the "deteriorating" AQI in Mumbai while taking suo motu (on its own) cognisance of the issue. Even Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had expressed his shock at the pollution levels after arriving in the city for the India-Sri Lanka game. also took a photo of the city from his airplane.&nbsp; On a smog-covered photo of Mumbai's skyline he took from his airplane, Sharma wrote, 'Mumbai, yeh kya ho gaya?'&nbsp;

A group of supporters purportedly waved Palestine flag and launched a 'Free Palestine' campaign on the sidelines of the Pakistan vs Bangladesh World Cup match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday.
In a video and photograph that went viral on social media, three people were seen flashing the Palestine flag by climbing on a dais.
There has been no official word from the ICC, but according to reports the local authorities have detained four persons in connection with the incident.
It's not clear whether the supporters were from Bangladesh or India. Thousands of Bangladeshi fans had travelled to the city to watch the match.
The nationalities of the detained persons are not known.
The match witnessed an official attendance of 27,940 in the 67,000-capacity Eden Gardens. Bangladesh endured a second straight defeat at Eden Gardens to be knocked out of the World Cup.
Opting to bat, Bangladesh were bundled out for 204 in 45.1 before Pakistan cruised to a seven-wicket win.
The incident has come to light in the wake of Israel's offensive on Gaza strip following Hamas' attack on Israel.
