Delhi Traffic Police released a statement on Monday asking commuters to opt for alternate routes to Ghaziabad and Noida.&nbsp;

In the video, several guards are seen assaulting a middle-aged man with sticks. At one point in the video, the resident is also seen retaliating with a stick, after which the guards further bash him badly.
Reports said that the resident of the Lotus Boulevard society in Noida&rsquo;s Sector 100 had an argument with one of the security guards over maintenance and security issues after which the altercation broke out.
Police said the resident, Suresh Kumar, was taken to a hospital and discharged after first-aid.

In a big blow to builder Supertech, Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the demolition of twin 40-storey towers in the Emerald Court project in Noida for violation of building norms.
A bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud pronounced the verdict stating that there was collusion between <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/steep-price-hike-in-cng-and-png-price-in-delhi-noida-greater-noida-and-ghaziabad-1630208713864" target="_blank">NOIDA </a>officers and the builders in facilitating the construction.&nbsp;
"The record of the case is replete with instances which shows collusion of Noida authority with the builder. Collusion is writ large in the case," Justice Chandrachud mentioned, stating that&nbsp;"illegal construction has to be dealt with strictly."
The apex court has asked that the work of demolition should be carried out by the Supertech within a period of three months at its own cost. Keeping the interest of consumers in mind the verdict has also directed the real estate company to reimburse all flat owners along with 12% interest.
The apex court pointed out, "the protection of environment and well-being of the people who occupy this has to be balanced with the need of increasing demand for urban housing."
The two towers have 857 apartments in total. Of those, about 600 flats were sold.
Supertech launched the Emerald Court in 2006 in&nbsp;Noida&nbsp;Sector 93A.
In 2012, the RWA moved court saying that Supertech&nbsp;flouted the building safety norms and distance criteria, while constructing the twin towers by encroaching upon the garden area and thereby blocking the views, air and sunshine of residents.

Allahabad HC had in April, 2014, ordered the demolition of the twin tower complex&nbsp;in Noida while directing Supertech to refund money to homebuyers with 14% interest in three months.
Supertech&nbsp;moved <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/in-a-first-nine-new-supreme-court-judges-take-oath-in-one-go-1630395041423" target="_blank">Supreme Court</a> saying it had approvals from the Noida&nbsp;Authority.

While the move brought relief to many people, trouble continued for several who found it difficult to arrange empty oxygen cylinders that were required to avail the facility.

Uttar&nbsp;Pradesh's&nbsp;Gautam&nbsp;Budh&nbsp;Nagar administration has imposed a night curfew in the&nbsp;district from 10 pm to 5 am effective immediately till April 17. Restrictions kick in, in the&nbsp;city of Noida&nbsp;as well.
All government and private educational institutes, except medical, para-medical and nursing institutes, will remain closed for physical classes along with&nbsp;coaching institutes.&nbsp;

However, all exams including practicals shall be held as per schedule and students appearing for them are exempted from this regulation order.
There will be strict enforcement on mask wearing and other <a href="https://www.editorji.com/covid-19" target="_blank">Covid</a> protocols in public places,&nbsp;including at workplaces, by police and other concerned departments.&nbsp;
All movement of essential goods and commodities and essential and medical services has been exempted from the night curfew.

Police in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar on Tuesday imposed restrictions prohibiting unauthorised protests and warned of action against people not following <a href="https://www.editorji.com/covid-19" target="_blank" >Covid-19</a> protocols like social distancing and wearing face masks in public places.
The police invoked Section 144 till April 30 as a precautionary measure. People will have to follow Covid-19 protocols at public places during the period and they will not be allowed to roam around with sticks, rods or firearms at public places except disabled and blind people.
The order added that nobody will be allowed to hold protests, processions or hunger strikes without permission from the competent authority. 
The police also reiterated the complete ban on celebratory firing at events such as weddings and consumption of liquor at public places during the period.

The airport will have a logo depicting a flying sarus crane, Uttar Pradesh&rsquo;s state bird. Sarus cranes have one of their richest habitats in the wetlands around Noida. The logo was presented before CM Yogi Adityanath on Thursday along with the official name of the airport and terminal design.
